Rumors are running rampant that we will soon have a new NAFTA deal with Mexico... which will put pressure on Canada to jump in as well (before we build a wall on our northern border). Meanwhile, the Chinese are running low on soybeans and have quietly snuck a trade delegation into DC to open negotiations. Could the trade war end before it really begins?

Against Trump, regardless of how good the deal is for Canada. Trudeau already looks weak to Canadians ever since his trip to India, and any kind of deal with Trump will look like a concession - even if it is just a good deal for all.
Trudeau would also like to avoid giving Trump a political win before the Fall elections. A Trilateral NAFTA agreement may be in danger, and it is possible this will be a 2 way deal. When that threat is made apparent to Canada, it will be hard for Trudeau not too go along despite his own personal situation.

As you can see, both the North and South want a declaration ending the war, which is effectively over, except for some diplomacy/logistical hurdles that the United States has.
