no matter what, never seeing that though Biden isn't the greatest, he is someone who is actually working for the American people
and not for some sort of family glut.

But the question is why? Why is it the insanity that is Trump is something to support - he lied tens of thousands of times misleading this
country in areas, is selfish, insulting, stupid, and on and on and none of this is made up, it's all well documented, video evidence galore
- then there's Biden, he makes a few gaffs every now and again.

Omicron will infect vaccinated and unvaccinated alike, and will also be spread by both.

You can't blame the unvaccinated for the spread of what's becoming the more predominant strain.

Nobody / nothing could possibly 'end' the virus, no matter what they did, regardless of vaccines or shutdowns or anything.

Yet Biden freely and repeatedly made that claim, and went completely unchecked.

Only now he says 'Whoops, sorry. Nothing I can do about it.' And the press will give him a pass, again.

Secondly the response was to the claim that he wanted to shut down the country which he didn’t do. His response is was he would shut down the virus which LARGELY could have happened were it not for the vax refusalists. As unusual, you make a bigger deal out of it than it’s worth.

Omicron would still exist even if there was 100% vax compliance in the US. Zero-covid was never a possibility for the USA or any free society not located on a remote island in the South Pacific.

"This all suggests that the change in who is dying from Covid-19 may be tied to which areas experienced the worst outbreaks of the Delta variant and who in those areas remains unvaccinated. Relaxed precautions in many areas may also play a role.

When vaccination rates and behavior changes are not enough to stop the virus from spreading, those infections are much more likely to lead to hospitalization and death for unvaccinated people. The latest data from the C.D.C., which is based on data from 25 states and cities, shows that the death rate for unvaccinated people is 14 times as high as that for vaccinated people."

"The welcome news for most people who are vaccinated and boosted is that omicron infections often mimic the symptoms of the common cold. Those with two shots of vaccine, but no booster, also appear to fare relatively well, though they may develop more intense symptoms that may last longer, experts said.

Of the 205 million Americans who have been vaccinated, about 66 million, or 32 percent, have received a booster dose, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

In a series of Twitter posts, Craig Spencer, who teaches emergency medicine at Columbia University Medical Center, said every boosted patient he has seen in the emergency room has had no difficulty breathing or shortness of breath. Those who have had two doses of either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines also have had mild symptoms, he said, “but more than those who had received a third dose.”

But almost every patient who had to be hospitalized was unvaccinated, he said.

“No matter your political affiliation, or thoughts on masks, or where you live in this country, as an ER doctor you’d trust with your life if you rolled into my emergency room at 3am, I promise you that you’d rather face the oncoming Omicron wave vaccinated,” Spencer wrote."

"Context
During the same public appearance, Biden also stated, accurately, that vaccinated people are less likely to catch the virus than unvaccinated people and, if they do catch it, are less likely to get sick."

Was it a mistake to say it? Yes - but in context to the rest of the townhall statement, the context of being vaccinated. But you all will dwell on something immediately corrected rather than hearing the message.

Out of curiosity, do you avoid two-lane highways at all costs when a four-lane is available, even if it means a longer trip? Do you wear a helmet when you drive, if you drive? Do you meet or exceed the recommended cancer screenings each year? Do you perform self-exams? Are you diligent about avoiding the sun at peak daylight times if you have no sunblock on your face and body? Do you abstain from red meat?

As you've probably figured out, I'm listing things that are far more likely to kill you. 800,000 lives lost to a pandemic is tragic, but pales in comparison to pandemics/plagues that have attacked mankind in the past, but, frankly, people in the West were much tougher back then and far less apt to whine and panic. We had a pandemic in 1957/58 in the United States that claimed 100,000 lives, when our total population was about half of what it is now. There were no lockdowns or mask mandates. The sole focus of the federal government was to develop an effective vaccine, and they accomplished that, and the fact that you've probably never heard of that one illustrates what I wrote above about there being far fewer snowflakes back then. People just dealt with it. When you know things about history, you are less apt to place yourself among the sky is falling crowd and resort to histrionics and scapegoating of groups for something like a global pandemic. No group in our country is to blame for any of this and there are currently places in our nation where the vaccinated are experiencing higher rates of infection than the unvaccinated. It's called Mother Nature, and you should count your blessings everyday that you had the great fortune to be born where you were born and that something of such infinitesimally small risk to you constitutes the biggest risk that you perceive to your life. Try living in 80% of the other places on earth and see how your perspective changes on risks and life in general.

It's almost like comfort breeds a need to find grim dangers, even when grim dangers are barely present.

But yes, Jim, you sure have it rough, as do we all, living through this terror with the specter of viral death resting on every stranger's and every unvaccinated loved one's shoulders. What I would do if I were you would be too lock the doors and contort yourself into the fetal position and ruminate about slow viral death and what will happen in Trump is elected in 2024, at which point, life will be over. And do it wearing a mask, of course.

The messages that your party puts forth on COVID are far more appealing to women than men. The, "If it saves one life, lockdowns/mandates/etc. are worth it" argument will always appeal to women more than men. Complete safety and security will always appeal to women more than men. that COVID is a grave threat, in spite of the evidence.

Didn't you have it early on? Son of a gun. You pulled through it. Go figure. You should be the person here speaking to the need to put this in perspective and not be hysterical and irrational in assessing the relative danger of it.

I said it before: the single best moment of Trump's term was after he recovered from his COVID infection and stated that we should not be scared and that we can recover if we become infected, instead of speaking pessimistically and fearmongering. As a leader, you try to calm people, not alarm people with something like a pandemic. Your tribal leaders, probably wisely, perpetuate fear because the base is composed of millions of people who subsist on fear and catastrophism.

Yes, seeing a delusional moron surviving a near death experience he could have avoided was a great moment. Lying to America
about surviving from a remote treatment none of the rest of America are privy to or could afford was a brilliant moment -
letting America know, you don't need to worry about this virus, anyone can survive this, all they have to do is be brave.

And to remember, it was going to disappear like magic and that it was a Dem. hoax but almost a million Americans are dead now.
