So who will cast the first stone?

right now, and the latter is populated with "Unvaccinated Patients" to the tune of 95% nationwide...they are the ones who are causing all the grief and holding us all back from "Endemic-ness". For completeness sake, the case count is a serious impediment in that it a) portends a huge surge on hospital staff, b) causes more restrictions, and c) seriously inhibits the movement of vulnerable, yet vaccinated individuals.
There is really no debate here...keep pushing for vaccinations, or you're part of the problem.
And the panic of the day is almost purely about infections... a large number of which are without symptoms.

does any of that bother you?
The "Unvaccinated" are a problem in more ways than one.

Seems legit.
source for information on medical issues...according to one other source..."A Must-Read for healthcare devotees".
Granted, it's unlikely to make "Krystal & Saagar", but you take what you can get ;-).

You want me to find a counter article of conjecture and pseudoscience? Sure, Tyrone, you'd accept the equally questionable sources I'd have to find to do that.
owe it to you if you expend effort in good faith...then let the impartial observer make a fair judgement on what comes closer to the truth of the matter. I realize that not everyone here has the time or inclination for such an approach to issues, but what's the harm in trying to move things along that way?
Just look at the article I posted awhile back about the fraudulent studies and then see the reproducibility crisis. It's right and proper to be skeptical of what amounts to an oped of "assumptions" and "estimates" that isn't peer reviewed and since it isn't an actual scientific study, isn't reproducible.

You guys are the best.
In fact not long ago, some of the nutties here were saying Biden was crazy for wanting testing.

Some, non emoting, even semi intelligent people felt the same way and bought them ahead of time. Guess you weren’t one of those. You would have been emoting then about the waste of money and resources to provide the tests.
There should be more available but Omicron beat them to the punch. Not everyone is as good as Jared Kushner in anticipation of state needs on the federal level.
Here is one of the posts I found with the search that I’m talking about.

When Biden was pushing for the testing, after Omicron became a thing, this was the nutties response here.
On the other side, if you had a half an brain you went out and bought some kits.
I can guess which side you fell on.

With large pockets of unvaxxed people, we need to ride it out.
By the way what should Biden do? More restrictions, mandates, lockdowns? They would take the numbers down, but you know……freedom. So live with it. Get your natural immunity as you try to crash our HC system. Morons.

here for a few years. Older and vulnerable get vaccinated. Everyone else make a personal decision.
If only the “My Freedoms” morons would have given a least half a shit about their fellow citizens this wouldn’t be near the problem it is.

advice from the current and former POTUS, the current and former CDC Director, the NIH Director, and state public health officials all over the nation. But you know……freedom and such.

data.
In a regional medical facility that supports 14 rural counties in Tennessee, with a vax rate around 40%, approximately 17-20% of all of our covid admissions are fully-vaxxed individuals. Approximately 1/3 of our ICU beds are currently covid patients, some of which are fully-vaxxed. Yes, the vaccine helps with severe illness, but natural immunity is still the best protection against severe illness as we have not had a single patient admitted twice with covid since the pandemic began. Let the unvaxxed get the omnicron variant right now and let's get on with our lives.
Wednesday is the only day the hospital allows visitors to see patients.
This is current situation in our hospital. Near 700 patients. Among them close to 50 is covid patients and 170 patients, most of them are dementia patients, who are rejected by their families to be taken home for various reasons and the hospital couldn't find nursing home or any long term facility to take them. So hospital can not discharge these 170 patients. They have been staying in hospital for months even years. The hospital nurse told me now immigrant families are the only group that are willing to take care of their loved one at home. Also some immigrant families are willing to take other patients so that they can get compensation from the state. They sent quite many patients to Ukraine immigrant families.
COVID-19 Breakthrough Data and you get all the justification you need for today's unvaxxed to RUN to their nearest clinic for their first of three shots. Who really wants to play "Russian Roulette"?
Who made calculation? How come it can result a 50% difference? It's another national disgrace regardless of the motivation behind this change.

In my state, 566,237 people are fully vaccinated.
9,858 have tested positive. That is 1.74% of the vaccinated segment.
Granted, many people are infected, but not getting a formal test, using home kits or not getting tested at all.
With Omicron, fully vaccinated people + booster have a 75% chance of not getting infected.
So if 90% of the population is fully vaccinated, Omicron or any variant is less contagious.
Moreover, as Frank points out in this thread, and per my link, .... the key metric is hospitalizations. The folks in the ICU beds are almost all unvaccinated, close to 100%.
Don’t do that and you chances of overrunning our hospitals and society by your sickness are exponentially higher. You know the tree falling in the Forrest and all that.
omicron is not the serious threat of the other variants. Shut down was wrong even with the other variants, it is far more wrong with omicron.
Can the administration that gave you Afghanistan arrange an effective effort to create, produce, and distribute such a test nationally like Operation Warp Speed did for the vaccine? Well Brandon Handlers?
