Our politics is now motivated by rage. It's kinda embarrassing.
Can not allow the personal assasination of two decent human beings (Ford likely did experience sexual assault but her memory of who did it was flawed) for political expediency. Senator Feinstein's actions in using Ford as her pawn and trying to personally destroy Kavanaugh by her despicable political games cannot be allowed to stand.

For Dems if he is confirmed. Especially if this plays out how Trumpo wants it to

In some way. Kavanaugh is clearly in his pocket. To think otherwise is to be willfully blind to the power politics being played by the head of the Republican tribe. Who by the way revels in the division he is sowing throughout the country

I was thinking the same thing. Withdrawing Kavanaugh would energize the base and secure the Senate in the mid terms. Then another like-minded (in the legal sense, not the assault sense) candidate can be nominated and confirmed. Confirming Kavanaugh now energizes the Dem base and puts the Senate in jeopardy.
Maybe this was Mitch's plan all along. Freaking brilliant.

What do I know? I don't hang with the base. I'll take your word for it, but I will never trust you!!!
....just look. If Grassley had pushed through a week ago vs after all of this, the Dems and R's would still be of the same opinion with the same swing votes, and the Dems would still be accusing the R's of the EXACT same things.
What's the point of voting if the people you vote for don't have a spine and fail to deliver on their promises? That is what we suffered under Bush/McCain/Romney, and it's one of the big reasons we voted for trump. trust me - it's ok, I will never let you down.
PS - remember to also take this in the context of the actions of the Left and it's timing, and how we view it as well.
But this isn’t about the midterms. This is about protecting Trump. The other candidates are less certain on that topic.
I think that the G.O.P. is concerned about the possibility of losing the Senate. It may not be probable, but it could happen, and if it does, their concern would be that a democrat majority would stall/reject for two years to give the next democratic president a shot at making the selection.
That concern would exist if there were no nomination underway. Which is why he will be confirmed; they would rather up the risk of losing the Senate and have a conservative majority on the SC than take the chance of losing and losing.

I actually think that there are several G.O.P. senators who would possibly prefer a different candidate for S.C.O.T.U.S., but may well go ahead and vote for Kavanaugh so as not to risk backlash from their constituents during the election.
Isn’t there a concern that BK is less pro life than some of the other candidates? The broad probably would have sailed through the Republicans.

There is nothing centrist about Kavanaugh.

an all encompassing response to things you don't like or agree with.
How about being a little more honest when posting.

showed rage? Seriously? I thought he maintained composure considering the circumstances. The dems came out of this with mud on the face. It was a disgrace.
He never lost his cool or insulted anyone, but his rage was apparent.
Not like this ninny who was out of control.
