I’m talking about permanent legislation.
Interestingly, Mitch McConnel gave a great history lesson on the topic. It was a simple majority for our entire existence up until H W Bush, and then back again after Harry Reid.
I’m not decided on the issue, but I do know that what goes around comes around, and it’s easier for one side to accept a change after benefiting rather than after feeling the sting, but it might be the only chance you will get. What say you if you had the power to make it so or not?
Into one State. Also combine North and South Dakota into just one Dakota.

The moderate Kav types (who Dubya would appoint) get approved 50-48.
If they went to 60, we'd have a judiciary made up of David Souters.

History will treat Mitch and the GOP controlled Senate as the chickenshit cheats that they are.
As I have posted before, there is a significant difference between power and leadership.
...I would be willing to change it back, but I also would want a limit on EO’s and on SCOTUS legislation.....in other words, I want the congressional power restored to an equal footing with the exec and judicial branches.
Reid had to fill judicial vacancies, so the judicial branch could fulfill its constitutional role amidst demanding caseloads.
[Imagine a hospital staff stripped of 40% of its doctors, nurses, and technicians]
Mitch bragged about viewing his oath of office to obstruct obstruct obstruct President Obama.
The Affordable Care Act got 60 votes.
Mitch lacks the character and respect to require 60 votes on Supreme Court nominations or major legislation.
To 60 votes (which, btw is the reason you now want to move it back as it bites YOU in the ass now with conservative appointees)..
It’s comical to hear the guy who has the RESIST!!! Bumper sticker bitching about obstruction btw.
Reid and Obama (and your support) sowed the wind, and now you reap the whirlwind. If I were in charge of making the change back to 60 however, I would take into account the potential for reasonable cooperation with the opponent. You have none, and thus, I would walk away from you, leave it at simple majority, and proceed to shove as many hard line conservative judges up your ass that I could because it is clear to me that you are incapable of compromise or an accurate perception of reality. You would simply find a way to justify breaking your word at some point. Thus, I would send a message back to your clan that they should remove radicals like you from power in your party, and to send back someone reasonable, or don’t bother discussing this again.
I can see that the real hope for change at this point is if the Soros, ANTIFA, Hollywood communist/socialist radicals lose their grip of control on the Dem Party. I asked this question because I knew that if it ever happened, the conservatives would be expected to make the sacrifice of giving up the advantage. It would never be considered by the Left when they were in control. I can see that it simply cannot happen. Oh well, Carpe Diem!
