the will of the people.
So no. Too bad really, he wasn't a bad mayor, just not a good mayor for the people of a city; very business savvy not much care for his constituents; created more wealth for the wealthy businesses, upped the cost of living by a lot, forced out the lower income bracket by creating higher taxes on property owners; broke down old laws that helped the lower economic bracket; worked to privatize gov't businesses without appearing to do so - Parks Dept turned over to private concerns and the like. Basically worked the way the R Governor is working in Michigan, just without the publicity and scandal attached to it.

By the end of his term we would be told how many miles a day we can drive in our cars.
His policies may be tolerable, but on a personal level I cannot respect someone who preaches gun control while traveling everywhere with an armed detail.

Experienced, smart, sane. He seems like a guy that would put country ahead of party.
And it would be cool to have a real billionaire as president.
You stole my line.
He has a relatively good record in NYC (although he failed in his attempt to reform the schools or do anything with the MTA).
But he's 76 now. He would be in his eighties for most of his first term and would be the oldest president ever.
I just don't see him galvanizing voters in Iowa, Western PA, WI, Ohio, etc.
As for being 76, that's going to be a concern but I'll be comforted when he picks Amy Klobucher as his VP (my new favorite Senator).
He said AK is very popular in Minnesota but is unelectable nationally.
Off the top of my head:
Ventura
Franken
Mondale

It's best to be honest in these situations...
