Of course they say it was an accident and the Crown Prince or the King had no knowledge. What a crock of shit.
Good thing they had a trusted bone knife with them, otherwise the offials would have had their asses kicked by Khashoggi.
It will be interestingly as amusing when they give us their report on what happened to his body.

This incident and Trump’s response reflects that he has zero moral fiber.
Khashoggi was a Virginia resident. He was known as a gentle spirit by his colleagues, but a fierce journalist who was uncompromising in reporting the truth. He worked for the Washington Post. Freedom of the Press is one our sacred tenets as Americans. An attack against any journalist is an attack on all journalists.
The Kingdom knew all that. Yet, they killed him anyway, knowing that President Trump would defer to them and likely provide cover when push comes to shove. That is exactly what happened.
There is a long history of the United States turning a blind eye towards Saudi Arabia abuses, in an effort to forge a relationship with the best option (amidst bad choices) in trying to find a stable partner in the Middle East. “The Devil you know ....”
But, there is no doubt that MBS ordered the kill. US SIGINT has known from the jump what occurred.
Reasonable minds can disagree as to proper sanctions against Saudi Arabia. But, we are not that there yet. Step One is public condemnation by President Trump. He speaks for all of us. He has failed miserably.
These kind of incidents are test balloons. How will the US respond? Who are we? Can we be bought off?
By failing to condemn this brutal act in the strongest terms, how will the world expect us to act when a US citizen is killed in the same manner?

Maybe it’s a personality issue.

PARIS — Saudi Arabia is pouring $20 billion into a new investment fund run by Wall Street’s Blackstone Group. The French oil giant Total just inked a nine-billion-euro petrochemical deal with the kingdom. The British defense company BAE Systems is selling 48 Typhoon combat jets to Riyadh for an estimated five billion British pounds.
The world’s biggest companies might be talking about distancing themselves from Saudi Arabia amid a growing furor over the killing of the dissident journalist Jamal Khashoggi. But as American and European executives pull out of a showcase Saudi investment conference next week to avoid controversy, many companies are so deeply invested that they are unlikely to sever ties or avert future deals with the oil-rich kingdom.

but the rest of the world needs their oil and investment money so same old same old
They have been way off the chain since Orange got in.
Admit we need to put up with some of their BS, but they need to be bitch slapped when they go too far.
What’s not realpolitik about this view?
resident. They sent a murder team and lured him to a consulate to do it. Can’t do that shit. We can’t control a lot of their internal atrocities but that is a step way too far.
Cancel the power plant deal ( they really don’t need nuke plants anyways) and move on.
P.S. would say the same thing if the POTUS was W or BAM’s
...to counter Iran. They probably saw what happened to Ukraine. They won't let Iran get nukes without getting nukes themselves.

Saudi Arabia presents a counter to Iran. Maybe if Iran sees this as a chance to move closer to the US...but until then, why mess around with Saudi Arabia when there is no direct benefit to the US to do so?

I said it clearly I don't rush to make judgement and I don't believe any leaked news from Turkey source. Now, Turkey officially called on the public to ignore any information claiming to be leaked from the case.
"This includes false stories about a group of 15 Saudi tourists who were accused of being government agents sent to kill Khashoggi, and stories about how his Apple watch revealed “recordings” indicating that he was tortured and killed. Both claims were falsified with a series of evidence and analyses."

The article also includes a denial by the Saudi ambassador that the guy was killed in the consulate which they now admit.
The fifteen tourists is the best claim. Yeah 9 of the “tourists” worked for the Saudi govt or intelligence. They did a lot of sightseeing as they flew in and out the same day Khashoggi was killed
He’s a moron’s moron.
some more than others
and I didn't believe them. I said it clearly I don't know on this one. But I just can't help mocking some TDS victims here.
