That's makes 10 states where recreational marijuana is legalized. How long before it is legalized at the federal level?
The 420 movement is getting stronger.
Soon major corps (Philip Morris) will lobby a federal acceptance and they will write the rules and regulations.
Money to be made.
Either enforce existing law or decriminalize. They are too chickenshit to take a stand.
There is some chatter that Trump may take this up, so who knows. It's inevitable that this will be legal in most states in the coming years.
He was a Cannabis hawk. I think Trump went along with him, but I never got the impression that Trump's heart was really in it.
Maybe this is an area where Republicans and Democrats can find common grass.
These were not pot heads and elicited my compassion. I also have friends who use for recreation and I honestly feel it's no worse that alcohol. I do worry about the impact on traffic accidents and use by teenagers, but again, it's no worse than alcohol. It will take a while to work out the regulation but I feel that can be done reasonably and without serious conflict. So I voted for it. The world will not come to an end
I know at least 20 professionals that use it recreationally on a regular basis, all are productive members of society. I know at least 5 people with elderly loved ones who wish they could get them some relief from various conditions using marijuana.
Of course the next battle will be the psychadelics: LSD, shrooms, MDMA (ecstacy), DMT and Ayahuasca. There are studies going on researching their effectiveness at treating PTSD among other things. There are also several documentaries out there about their effectiveness at treating Anxiety and Depression. Also, that loon Sam Harris that I listen to is a strong proponent, not sure if that's a great endorsement or not...
Actually, if that ever happened, I would get there, too, somehow.
On point: Should any substance be barred from being prescribed by a doctor? I think doctors should be given near total leeway on this kind of thing. Not sure I trust a politician to tell my doctor not to give me medicine that my doctor thinks will help me. I get the overprescription of opiods. Maybe that is why.
Lehigh is in charge of bringing the drugs.
Alas.
I also think we over prescribe and then of course there's the pharma conflict of interest.
