It is obvious to anyone that the butchery of Kashoggi was ordered by the Saudi Royal Family and specifically the Crown Prince. Clearly the Prince is going to behead the people who carried out his orders.
Given that fact, what should be the US response?
- cut off all diplomatic relations, end all arms sales, implement sanctions, freeze all Saudi assets in the USA, stop assisting in any way in the Saudi genocide in Yeman. Accept that these actions will assist the world's foremost terrorists, Iraniian Mullahs, and will cause global economic shock and awe. After all, we and Great Britain created the trillionaire misogenistic band of goat hearding scum and we now have to live with the consequences
- Ignore the whole thing, pretend to believe the Saudi Royal Family because every country including the US and our allies murders people when it is in our interest. In fact, Predator Drone attacks on US citizens that kill entire families including innocent women and children is worse.

Washington: The CIA has concluded that Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman ordered the assassination of journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul last month, contradicting the Saudi government's claims that he was not involved.
The CIA's assessment, in which officials have said they have high confidence, is the most definitive to date linking Mohammed to the operation and complicates the Trump administration's efforts to preserve its relationship with a close ally.

Something we should have done long ago.
I’d also pull our ambassador for a while. If we had one. But we don’t, which is amazing.
What is Trump considering, however? The worst possible response, of course. Unbelievably bad.

Also ordered by him: The kidnapping of the Lebanese PM and the bizarre blockade of Qatar.
Many think that he has essentially been given the green light to do anything he wants by our idiot administration, in the form of our de facto ambassador, Jared.
Many are right.
and Yemen gov. You want to cut off all aids before calling cease fire of all parties? That's not the topic of this thread anyway.

Politics or diplomacy based primarily on considerations of given circumstances and factors, rather than explicit ideological notions or moral or ethical premises. In this respect, it shares aspects of its philosophical approach with those of realism and pragmatism. It is often simply referred to as "pragmatism" in politics, e.g. 'pursuing pragmatic policies.' Or, we can cut off our noses to spite our face.
They need to know they only stay on that throne as long as we let them.

Certainly we shouldn't be providing the Saudi madman with weapons. You'd think we learned our lesson there with Saddam Hussein.

They can't make a refrigerator. Or a toaster.
They are not close to being able to manufacture modern arms.

the principles of American foreign policy, i.e. sovereign independence and national interests, the answer to your question is very easy to give.
What about all those guys Hillary killed? And what about her emails?
Why? Because you like some people and don't like others, for reasons unrelated to the act you supposedly abhor? You only abhor that act when it is done by certain people?
And when someone points out your hypocrisy, you whip out the old "whataboutism" defense? That is really intellectually weak, or intellectually dishonest. Which one should we go with?
