Every generation of cars gets worse and worse in my opinion.
The worst thing for me is the Infotainment systems (4:50 in the video). I always buy my car in spite of the infotainment system, not because of it. And as the guy says, "They try to pack 50 pounds of shit in a 5 pound bag." Well said. I would be very happy if my next car had no touch screen whatsoever (much less one they just slapped on top of a dashboard (picture below left...ugh, just awful). I have two touch screens, and they are very bright...and it takes me 9 virtual button presses to turn them off. In my wife's car, it is pretty much impossible to adjust the radio sound quality while driving without getting into an accident: multiple-depth menus to read, screen touches that are slightly off so they don't register as a virtual button press...WTF? It's a frickin' car. If you can't drive while adjusting the controls, maybe the feature shouldn't be on a car.

Don't make push a static button to raise or lower the temp - give me a fucking knob that I don't have to search for, something that I can find by 'feel' instead of diverting my glance from the road to the dash.
Now get off my lawn!

I do like the 360 degree back up camera, blind spot warning, back up warning, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control. Hope to god the electronics dont fail and put the car in the dealer's garage for two weeks.
I figured out how to turn off the automatic 3 blinks on the turn signal.
The blind spot thing works at weird times. I had a rental car a few weeks back, and I would be in one of two left turn lanes, turn on my left blinker, and get an audible warning. Yes, yes, car, I know that there are people to my left turning as well, now shut the hell up!
Lane warnings may be useful...but I still find them annoying. I admit I will change lanes without a blinker occassionally when I know I'm the only car on the road, and the lane change alarm always shames me.
Probably would not be so much of an issue if the car were designed more for good visibility than for styling aesthetics. Fo me a couple beeps and a yellow flashing symbol in the side mirror can be helpful.
In my day, we didn’t need fancy entertainment systems or GPS or air bags! We had our a.m. radios and maps and lap belts and were just fine, thank you very much. Also, we didn’t need cars to last beyond 75,000 fancy miles.
Mister, we could use a man like Herbert Hoover again.

Blind spot warnings, backup cameras, GPS maps and touch screens are actually very handy innovations for we seasoned citizens.
controls that you have to find and scroll through suck.

But screwing around with a touch screen is OK?
It seems to me more testing should have been on certain functions and their impact on driver's attention.
My wife's SUV has the touch screen. Hate it.
My car has a stationary mouse positioned in the centre console that I can use instead of a touch screen and it's brilliant. I can scroll through my menu options from memory now and change radio stations, navigation settings, etc. So much less cumbersome than a touch screen where I have to take my eyes off the road.

to.
The kind of thing that lawsuits will sort out...eventually.
Thank God for attorneys!
I still have one to gradeate so keep on fucking up.

It probably makes the people put down their phones for a few seconds, though.
If you want to get depressed, stand on a busy corner and take a look at how many people are texting. I hate them.
...and trudging along like zombies. It's idiocy.
Couldn’t agree more about the street corners. Sad.

So they all copy each other.
And what car doesn’t have a manual volume button for the radio?

I just want channel 36. WTF do I have to scroll through genre's etc to try to get there?
How lazy are you?
Sheesh

"Harry Myhre writes that on the 2017 Cadillac XT5, there's no physical volume knob. You have to repeatedly tap a touch strip on the dash or a button on the wheel, neither of which is powered on until the system has booted. Same thing on the 2017 Honda Accord, says @RandyTaradash. “It annoys me to no end that I can't turn the car on without the ability to immediately turn down the radio.” Similarly, “you can adjust wiper settings in a Tesla 3 only on the touch screen,” writes @briantroberts. “The last thing I want to do when I can't see out of my car is find a button on a screen!”"

Which I’m sitting in trying not to fall asleep.
And, by "crappy infotainment system" I mean your basic infotainment system.
The Honda has to be rather basic. For example, I don't believe it doesn't have some manual control.
My Tahoe is a good mix, though admittedly I don't use most of the electronics that I could. My wife's RR Sport is almost fully automated; it's crazy. I'll give you that it's a bit much.
