...said to be necessary to combat Climate Change (but really necessary to pay for many of his liberal policies).
Large scale immigration is not cheap either.
We can see our own future in this mess if we pursue their course just as we could see it with Healthcare.

If you believe that CO2 is a greenhouse gas (scientifically indisputable), and you believe that the increase in CO2 over the past 200 years could be dangerous, you should be depressed at this backlash in a place that has pretty much bought in to the need for changes in behavior. Not a good sign for the world, IMO. We better hope the feedbacks turn out to be negative or we are probably F’d.
of anybody. Roughly taking a look at the increase, I see it's on the scale of monthly fluctuation of gas at our pump stations. (This is perhaps the reason why Macron stands firm so far and won't make any compromise). But the people's reaction to this modest change is much stronger. This tells you the protest is probably about more than the merely the modest carbon tax. of course, I hope Macron abandon all the carbon taxes. That's a different topic.

What a model for others.
while I paid for my house on cash, those who buy houses are paying plenty of property taxes as well as interest to banks which drives the countries economy. The govt puts those mortgage deductions there to encourage people to buy homes since it benefits the government significantly when they do so.
