Imagine if Trump and GOP in charge after 2008 ... we'd be living in tents.

In 2009, Obama and Dems rescue the nation from economic hell, stabilize the sinking markets, and then hand off a booming economy to Trump in 2016.

In less than 2 years, the GOP has found a way to send us back towards a recession.

Brilliant.

Because their contributions to Democrat campaigns failed to prevent the midterm landslide by the Republicans in 2010

Wrong on the number as usual. Can’t you at least try to be honest?

Growth was by no means robust but that isn’t accurate.

Did it not average about 1.0% with his highest 1.6% and I know he said 3.0% was impossible.

What do you think the number was over his time on average and the best he ever did? I think I am pretty close. I know the interest rates were next to nothing and often referred to as 0%.

2.1% total. Also had 2 quarters around 5. Took me 2 minutes to find it. Sigh.

To win in the nation’s broad midsection, the Democratic nominee will need to project steadiness, substance, and warmth.

As with Bolsonaro in Brazil, Trump rose because of decades of failure by the political establishment to address urgent systemic problems, including corruption at high levels. Democrats must hammer out their own image and agenda and stop self-destructively insulting half the electorate by treating Trump like Satan.

She goes on...

She overgeneralizes and completely dismissed that a moderate D will beat him.

"U.S. demand for coal has been falling since 2007, federal officials said, and this year will be the second-biggest on record for mothballing of U.S. coal plants."

Maryanne Trump Barry is one of my father's friends

Trump's sister, who until recently was a federal judge. My parents went to her wedding. Donald made a big entrance.

But my father says that she is a straight-shooter and a good person, as was her late husband. At one point my father was hired to represent her husband as part of a class action suit brought by people who Donald had failed to pay and breached contracts.

There were enough of these people - contractors, entertainers, repairmen, all sorts of people - that they were considering a class action suit.
