But wait... weren't the boy scouts being criticized for their anti-gay attitudes? Holy contradiction Batman!

Excuse nothing. But look outside the Church with similar intensity.
Or wag and whine.

old research is proof? You're also going with, the Catholic priests who have been named and accused aren't actually attacking young boys, it's older boys and a few girls too so, they're not as bad as everyone is saying and you're going with: all those allegations though heart rendering to the rest of us are basically untenable therefore they're false claims; they're no different by statistics than teachers, Scouts, other trusted institutions across the globe and parents so it's okay for the Catholic priests because they're no different from the rest of us; Not all homosexuals are molesters (very true - and no one has ever said different with the exception of Jakers) and not all molesters of young boys are homosexuals and too, not all molesters are male clergy; not having sex doesn't make children the object of one's desire; all incidents we hear of today are of molestations by clergy from our deep past - the 60's and the 70's; you're going with, clergy aren't all homosexuals but they molest boys 80% of the time from reported incidents and even if that number seems high, it's a norm therefore nothing to be alarmed about.
So you're going with this decade and a half ago report that our fears that a small number of clergy (depending on what city you're in) are picking off a few of our children for sexual pleasure and release, are basically unfounded fears and not on the new and updated version from almost a decade ago?
My question to you is - why continue to defend the Catholic church's behavior by saying, everyone else is doing it - look at them too?
My opinion is; it's not an unbalanced point of view. It's about trust and the Catholic church by them turning a blind eye to the issue as a willing enabler and protector all by hiding behind spiritual robes turning the abused into the guilty and if our beloved Scouts org's Scout Masters are doing the same, then they should be exposed especially if the institution is enabling and protecting the abusers as a matter of protecting the institution. So the balance should be weighted to the Flock and not the Shepard.
