My rule: No object (no ship, building, street, school, field, stadium, whatever) should ever be named after a living person as an honor, unless that person provided the money for the object.
Thus, for example, no aircraft carrier should have been named Reagan until Reagan died. Who knows if they will become a source of embarrassment later? Let them die, then assess their legacy, then name things after them.
But, I suppose we can now rename Valley Forge the "John P. Murtha National Historical Park."
