It should be privatized... no benefit in it being run/funded by the govt.

If one of thousands is useful, they all are useful, eh? Why do you suppose they are stuck in there?

The swamp that is congress (esp Dems) knows that if they categorize certain important jobs as nonessential in the budget along with all of the deadwood, then they can always point to those few important jobs when a shut down occurs and make the fallacious argument that all of the shut down government functions are necessary. In fact, they are just a few out of thousands, but this common logical fallacy fools simple minds (you).

There are certainly going to be a few job descriptions in that massive amounts of dead wood that has been shut down that are important, and I would be all for finding money on the side or recategorizing certain jobs such the rangers and sanitation workers at the national parks or he TSA. But the vast majority are unnecessary.

Personally, in the case of the TSA, I would privatize it as I find the TSA to be a joke, and their workers give me the impression that they don’t give a damn, and they are totally comfortable in their job security as they treat people poorly.

Now, IF you feel that they are so essential, then you better start asking Pelosi why she is shutting down the government by not approving a miniscule amount (by US budget standards) for a wall.

You didn't answer my question. And the "dems"don't define essential vs. nonessential.

And non-essential doesn't mean unimportant.

And Mexico is paying for rhe wall. Did you forget?

Thread Level: 4

So if GOP proposes a special measure to pay TSA only right now, you think Dems would support it?

You’re getting your ass kicked in this argument if you didn’t know it, btw.

Thread Level: 5

Both essential and non-essential should be paid. Democtats have not said otherwise.

Of course, Little Hands and the anti-human party don't care. All the Feds are "deadwood" to them.

BTW, congrats on your victory pronouncement. Guessing that you learned how to do that from your Leader.

Thread Level: 6

Not what I asked, dodger. I see you won't help essentials. We don't need nonessentials. you prove

my point. You lose.

You are a moron. Non-essential does not mean not important.

Essential generally equates to national security and public safety. Attorneys, scientists, engineers, accountants, etc. are almost always included in the non-essential pot.

I guess it's your position that all of those folks are deadwood and should be terminated.

so they could find part time paid work during the partial shutdown. I’d surmise they are not essential and probably should not receive back pay when the Schumer/Pelosi shutdown is resolved and probably don’t need to be invited back to work. In any event, security screening should be paid for by the airlines.

Thread Level: 3

Regardless, they have been designated as essential. They should work for free?

The stupid thing is that non essential employees who are not working will also be paid.

You mean that they should work "months, even years" before being paid?

They need the TSA to try to make the public feel at least some discomfort for the shutdown.

Thread Level: 8

Not a bad idea. He should also move Coast Guard from DHS to DOD and pay them too

My opinion is that the TSA government agency should not exist and that Airlines should be responsible for airline security screening. Saying “yes but they aren’t or “ yes but they won’t” is non responsive.
