Not that Cole won't change his mind...but that he is essentially a stand-in for millions of Trumpamaniacs who will continue to put party over country, no matter what Mueller says.
I really do think it all comes down to abortion. As long as Trump makes pro-life moves, they will be with him until the last dog dies.
Not to mention my other points already listed in this thread.
You guys had more of an interest in guaranteeing the findings which you prejudged than in conducting a hearing that the Right would trust.
Otherwise, His buddy Rosenstein would have removed Mueller at the start because of his conflict of interest with Comey, and you would have taken the care to construct at least a somewhat politically neutral investigation team.
But the Left couldn't guarantee a Trump condemnation if they were fair or played by normal rules.
I told you this back then, but you didn't care. Why are you bemoaning that which you were warned about? Did you think we would forget?
There is virtually nothing Mueller says that I will believe. I know Andrew Weisman's MO as well.
I also am included in the group of Trumpomaniacs you deride with the implication of stupidity yet I have 10 years of postgraduate education , and ram my own businesses. I cannot understand how Trumpophobes can be so dismissive of any fact that doesn't fit their narrative, but nonetheless, I do not assume them to be rubes despite having as much reason to do so as you.

In the real world, none of these career prosecutors are even remotely "hyperpartisan"; Mueller had no reason to recuse himself; this investigation is aimed at one thing - the truth.
Anyone who believes otherwise either (1) puts party ahead of country, or (2) has what we call in the business "low cognitive complexity" or (3) both.
deal in emotions. It’s just how we are wired. You are a sharp guy. So am I. But we are wired differently.
Viva la difference.
Just as I don't believe those that say it's all about getting conservatives on the Supreme Court. Really? Trump was the only Republican pushing a pro-life and conservative judges agenda during the primaries? Poppycock.
Trump's base will stick with him to a potential bitter end for one simple reason. The longer they believe in the con, the harder it is to admit they've been scammed.
At least where it mattered.
But I think they see him as the leader of their team - the warriors for the unborn - and they will do anything to help him.
I think it goes the other way, too, but not quite so much. The left has its hardcore pro-choice elements, but they have not been as influential with the party since R v W.
For the right, it is abortion uber alles.

There is a possible innocent explanation for all this. The president might be just profoundly ignorant and stupid, not criminal or traitorous.
We don’t know what Mueller knows, and what he is finding.
The only unacceptable reaction is to already dismiss the report already. Like Baron.

Possible that one is a dupe, -- an unwitting Russian asset, yet nevertheless a genuine Russian asset.
Most Americans would prefer that such a dupe not occupy the Presidency.

All innocent explanations all rely on his total ignorance, stupidity and stubbornness.
Not sure that is much better.
In the article, they detail how Mueller is focusing on Trump's public statements as evidence of obstruction.
"The line of questioning adds to indications that Mueller views false or misleading statements to the press or to the public as obstruction of justice. That could set up a potential flashpoint with the White House and the Trump legal team should that become part of any final report from the Mueller investigation."
Do you admit that criminalizing public statements is a bridge too far?
This needs to stop.

It sounds more like they were talking to people who talked to Mueller’s team.
Remember: there is no rule against info coming out of the special counsel’s office. It would not be a leak. The Starr team talked to reporters all the time, on and off the record.
