Last Friday night a guy robs a Family Dollar Store in Pittsburgh. He then goes to rob another Family Dollar Store nearby A Pittsburgh Police officer and two Allegheny County Sheriff's deputies respond at the second location. When they enter the store the robber shoots at them. They return fire, wounding the robber in the femoral artery. With very little time to spare they immediately apply a tourniquet to the robber's leg. This saved the robber's life.
The cops did everything tactically correct, then saved the life of the man who was trying to kill them.
Stories about cops who heroically perform their duties don't seem to get noticed anymore.
