I live in an area with mild light pollution. I want to see intricate details on the moon, and planets like Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn.
Any ideas?
Personally don't think computerized go-to is necessary with the apps you can now get on your phone, especially for planets.
Good apps: skyportal, iss detector, aurora notifier

Don’t spend a lot of money until you decide you are really into it. Computerized go to let’s you find stuff and track. Maybe get an attachment to allow you to take photos. You can always upgrade if you find you are really into it. Link is one that should get you started.
