...and he did it twice. Your rules.
But that explains things. It's not like the GOP controlled both houses and POTUS. The GOP controlled both houses. Trump was POTUS.
And, as to the Congress, the GOP didn't really control the Senate because they refused to set aside the filibuster 60 vote requirement and just push through a solution. So, they only fully controlled one house of Congress.
This is obviously a regurgitated MSM talking point that you heard on CNN or MSNBC, and per usual it is false,
GOP controls senate, Dems control House, thus congress, which refers to the entire body, is not under control by anyone.
I have to expect a certain basic level of knowledge when debating someone which you clearly lack. Thus, I recommend that you simply read and listen and learn or perhaps go to school to acquire a better fund of knowledge. You hVe to help yourself here, you can't expect to be spoon fed.
to pass any legislation without Dem support so “control” only applies to the Harry Reid rule for confirming judges.

The GOP controled both houses. M
It cannot get any clearer than that.
So the Repubs didn't have control to approve the border wall in 17 and 18, without taking the nuclear option on spending bills at just 51 votes.
Meaning the beginning of the shutdown happened before the Dems had legit control of the house.
Now if McConnell took the nuclear option, which he won't, the wall funding would be approved now with the 53 Republican majority in the Senate

Self inflicted damage to the nation’s best interests and economy. Yet again.
Yes, the Wall is so vital! So vital that the GOP couldn’t pass funding when they controlled both chambers in 2017-18.
How did that turn out for you down the road?
Youwill have this same rule shoved back at you, but unlike us, you will whine and whine and not understand why this is happening to you. You will say "But that was a totally different situation".
Dems break precedent after precedent themselves, but still convince themselves that the other side was responsible.
I'm happy on Main Street btw. We have an awesome president (results don't lie).
#MAGA!!!
But if that's true, that's a disgrace. I think the last place anyone would want partisan politics to creep into is the Supreme Court.
My oldest son and I were actually laughing about this last night. Because the US has politicized its Supreme Court so much (and as a result it gets so much media coverage) we can actually name more members of the US Supreme Court than Canada's. In fact I can't name one judge on Canada's. They sort of spit out rulings periodically through the year and we just sort of go "Yeah, that makes sense" and we move on.
So I guess what I'm saying is you guys are weird.
Real President; Righteous confirmation
vs
POTUS 45*, McConnell cowardice
