in the history of the World and Socialism has failed everywhere it's been tried. Even in Europe where it has it's best chance of success since Uncle Sam has been defending them since WW2 allowing then to spend little or nothing on defense, it is collapsing as we speak. Germany spends about 1% of GDP on their military while our troops sit in their country providing a deterrent to Russian aggression. Expect major bank failures there and in France as well as Italy as coming attractions. Unfettered immigration has only hastened their decline and country after country continues to borrow their way into oblivion.
Historian Alexander Tytler said, "A democracy will succeed as a thriving entity until the populace figure out it can vote itself largess from the public treasury. From that point on it always expires over loose fiscal policy almost always followed by a dictatorship. The average length of a Democracy is about 200 years as the democracy goes through the following stages: from Bondage to Spiritual Faith, from Faith to Courage, from Courage to Liberty, from Liberty to Abundance, from Abundance to Apathy, from Apathy to Dependence and from Dependence back to Bondage."
I will leave it to you to figure out where we are on the professors timetable but we don't seem to be learning the lessons of history as we open our borders as Europe did and our Welfare State costs and budget deficits skyrocket but look to our South to view Venezuela to see the wonders of Socialism in a once prosperous oil rich country and our possible long term future if the left wins it's political war here.
Which have democratic socialism. If you have data to refute this fact, go for it.
Even with the American taxpayer supporting them for 50+ years by paying for their protection (by our military), the so called Democratic Socialism which you seem to admire is in the process of failing all over Europe and the end won't be pretty as we now see in Venezuela....They are already rioting in the streets of France and elsewhere.......How many socialist experiments have to fail before the left sees the light? Actually, it's really all about power for them. As long as they can get away with printing money and borrowing to pay for their profligacy they will survive but the handwriting is on the wall for the inevitable collapse. Look for the failure of major financial institutions in Germany, France and Italy to signal the start of their demise.

College students couldn't even describe what socialism is if they tried.
It's not about socialism as much as them hating the right and wanting power to silence their "oppressors."
I see lots of college students every day, and I can;'t remember ever seeing Marx or Castro, and I haven't seen Che in ...i dunno, 10 years?
Get real.

We were talking about the environment at a college or university. Frankly I'm not scared of any of those Millennials but in general if I walked around campus square in my Maga hat I would be a target of before the guy in the Che Guevara t-shirt ever got attacked.
