...to the actions of Bull Connor and George Wallace.
Here is what Democrat Bull Connor actually did:
Here is what Democrat George Wallace actually did:
All because they want to see some ID, like when you want to board a plane, or buy cigarettes or alcohol, or open a bank account, or rent a car, or book a hotel room, or buy certain cold medications, etc.
Let's tone down the rhetoric, Mr Uniter.
EDIT: typo
during the "Southern Strategy"...you should know this.
As far as the 'Voter ID' issue is concerned, we've had innumerable elections for local, state and national candidates that have been certified with several states not requiring photo IDs (see link)...so your contribution is just a "Red Herring".
Do a little research, Nigel.

"It Was All A Lie"...
"It hadn't always been that way. Before 1964, Republican presidential candidates could expect to get between 30 and 40 percent of the African American vote. Dwight Eisenhower got 39 percent in 1956. Four years later, Richard Nixon campaigned with Jackie Robinson and won 32 percent of black voters. In 1964, Barry Goldwater opposed the Civil Rights Act, and his black support plummeted to 7 percent. Since 1964, no Republican presidential candidate has broken 17 percent with African American voters, and by 2016 only 3 percent considered themselves Republican."
Which party fought for, and won, Civil Rights for African Americans?...the Black voters of America know who's on their side...and it's not today's GOP.
Either you are woefully ill-informed, or incredibly desperate to cling to a fallacious 'trope'...maybe both.

Racial jungle" This is president Biden at his baseline.
Connor and Wallace did not want black people to vote.
The GOP today does not want back people to vote.
Note: today it’s not because the GOP is racist; it is because black people vote Democrat. That’s an important difference.
Joe would compare it to the Dred Scott decision.

…….your proposal also has to be taken in the context of peer pressure.
A ballot harvester comes to the door of Cabrini Green apartment, and person who wants to vote Republican answers the door. They ask for the Mail in ballot they got in the mail so that they can fill it out (I’m not even addressing the many ballots they can get illegally from partisan election officials).
If the person says “no”, it is immediately known throughout the community. Their social standing and potentially their health is now at risk - THAT is the level of the peer pressure. Given that AA vote is 95% Dem, the people in the community have a very strong presumption of why the person said “no, I want to vote on my own”.
You actually rob this person of their civil rights.
Therefore, Reps try to limit their vote.
That is a statement of political strategy, not racism. Again, I am not saying the GOP is racist here.
If the situation were reversed - if black people voted overwhelmingly GOP - the Dems would be trying to limit their votes.

This is a common limo liberal view of black people.
this is simply a voter suppression "Red Herring"...plain and simple...check out the attached link that provides data on the only type of voter fraud this nonsensical requirement could address...can you say "Vanishingly Small"?

more than willing to exploit that. Race relations today are arguably worse than they were before the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Kinda sad.
