religious issues, you serve in a hospital, etc., AFTER you do your service you can go to college, etc.,. . The only exceptions is for caregivers of elderly parents. Once they're gone, in you go. Some age limits of course. During the 12 months you learn basic military discipline, weapons, etc.,=basic training. At times I wonder what percentage of people on this board have served .
I’ve worked with a large number of Isrealies as a former employer had a large factory and design center there. It seeemed like it worked well. Young adults were much more mature starting college after a couple years of military service than heading there right after school.

I don’t know how anyone could dispute it.
I don't like the draft, but I like the idea of drafting women even less.
It turns out old Phyllis Schlafly was correct all those years ago when she opposed the ERA and warned that eventually it would lead to women being treated just like men, thus exposing women to all sorts of deleterious things that would not be good for them, much like modern feminism, in general.
There are lots of jobs in today’s military that women are perfectly capable of performing.
But since there will be no draft in our lifetime, this will make no difference.
I can, unfortunately, guarantee you that there will be more drafts in our country given the history of mankind and wars. I do assume that our country survives of course.
Nuclear deterrence will not prevent this. It may even lead to more numerous lesser regional conflicts like Kuwait, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
This here article in the Observer from this week quotes some dope’s work heavily on this exact subject.

I am not sure that it is wise to put your name so openly on this board, but I commend your courage.
People tend to go personal in their arguments at times, and there’s always those pesky senate hearings for nominees where the Open forum could someday be made famous.
Remember how all American Shane Walton was recruited to ND? The ND Coach was watching film on some other player, and his teammate Shane Walton kept jumping out on film. The coach called the HS coach and asked, “Hey, where is this other kid going?” The HS coach responded, “ You’re joking right? He’s on your campus. He took a soccer scholarship”
Biden may be perusing the Open Forum someday, reviewing your thought processes in consideration for a State Dept appointment before afternoon nap time, when he comes upon The Baron. Insight after insight find their mark with the old guy as his extreme age finally starts to give way to wisdom. He turns in his bed and says, “Hey Carville, have you read this guy Von Zemo? He’s like Locke on steroids!” A star is born.
But don’t worry, I won’t forget you. 😎👍

Doxing is a blatant violation of the new board rules. That you did it to yourself doesn't excuse the violation of Chris's privacy.

I think he just locks threads and plays a convincing douchebag hall monitor.
I'm impressed. This has to be a UHND Open Forum first, correct?
You're moving up. Exponentially more people read the Observer than Survival. Who knows, maybe Grit will come knocking in 2019?

and the level of stuffiness of the source. Forget about your high school newspaper, if the National Enquirer quotes you on something, anything, I will take that prediction as gospel.
Regardless, I prefer the Chris94 that doesn't use semicolons and is never "unpacking" anything nor employing the term "hegemony." That Chris94 is slowly growing on me.
Hegemony, though...guilty. You can talk about US grand strategy without it.
And though I ban the semi-colon from students, when used well and rarely it is effective.
What are the odds that the author of that editorial even knows who Chamberlain is? She hadn't met a Republican until she went to Notre Dame (as she admitted in another of her editorials).
