This old Doc told me about the craziest case that he had ever seen- a pt who thought she was a moth.
She dropped in without an appointment during evening hours, but he talked to her at length since she seemed very pleasant and intelligent. She described her wings, her imaginary six legs, and even her young memories from inside the cocoon.
The doctor finally said to her that he was just a country family doctor, and that she really needed to see a psychiatrist, to which she responded,
"Well actually, I was passing by on my way to see one when I saw your light on".
