and "women can".
For typing "men can", I got (I omit those recommendations that google think you didn't finish spelling):
men can get pregnant,
men can have babies,
men can have periods,
men can have babies now,
men can cook
For "women can", I got
women can vote
women can fly
women can do it.
For typing "Hillary Clinton's email" or "Clinton's email", I got NOTHING recommended. But when I typed "Obama's email" and Trump's email", I got plenty recommendation.
Can you guys try typing these words in Google search and tell us what you get? Please set your location in U.S.
Duck Duck Go bcause at least they don't spy on your searches.
Startpage finds most of what I need for general, casual searching, but Google is admittedly better...with a total lack of privacy. I would never search anything on Google if I was logged in to Google or YouTube during that browser session. Granted, they can track my IP address, so I'm probably deluding myself.
I thought about going 100% to Tor to keep companies like Google at bay, but UHND doesn't seem to load in tor, which is a big issue for me...obviously. Plus, I worry that Tor is used by criminals and so may draw attention, so I've thought about forking over some bucks for a VPN. Why make the authorities think I'm hiding something from them?
It's not like you're anonymous on the internet no matter what you do.

Paranoia implies that Google etc. are not trying to gather information on me, but that is their business model.
It just doesn't bother me. If it did, I'd stop using the internet.
In a network of 3B+ users, no one really cares about you other than to deliver you ads. But don't make the mistake of thinking that you're ever truly anonymous. In fact, trying to cover your tracks makes you suspicious. It's arguable that being one of the 3B that don't encrypt their connection makes you more anonymous, this is why the NSA abandoned project prism and such. Just too much data to efficiently mine.
But going off the grid now, that's a trigger.
That's why I haven't switched to Tor.
But, I think VPN's are becoming common. I just read an article that said you shouldn't travel unless you have a VPN to use in hotels...especially in places like China.
What sites do you use that aren't and what sensitive info do you post to them?
Maybe I'm tilting at windmills trying to stay private, but it is kind of a hobby of mine...its a game I play, and I'm comfortable playing it. Mostly I stay private by not adopting the latest. The most I do online, you see here.
Seen this? Any thoughts? I thought it was interesting. It is not just about privacy on the internet. It is more about AI, so not really meant as a counter to anything you are saying.
I only watched a few minutes of your video. A few thoughts:
1. You may already be in a simulation. ("more likely than not" - Elon Musk and others)
2. You don't have free will. (Sam Harris)
3. AI is inevitable, why worry?
1) We are in a simulation already. I agree with that. Reality is a simulation. I don't worry about that, because that statement changes nothing for me. It is like saying water is not water because it is simulated...and yet, I still need to drink it. Nothing is changed by calling "reality" a "simulation." All you are doing is substituting a different word...using a new word to describe the rules we continue to live by. Swapping out "reality" for "simulation" is a mere exercise in linguistics. It's marketing.
2) Maybe not. And yet, I enjoy the perception that I have free will. Either way, I don't worry about this either.
3) AI is inevitable. You are right that we should not worry about what is inevitable. A few years ago I changed how I view the world and our nation. I now view a lot of that in the same way I view Notre Dame football. I cheer. I hope one side wins. I hope people don't get hurt. But, I don't fool myself. I have no direct effect on any of that, and any indirect effect I have is minimal at best, insufficient to turn a steaming aircraft carrier. But, I can change how I live, and how I raise my family. For example, I can buy a better wine next time I'm at the store. And, I still dream of buying a cabin in the woods.
