I accept that our President is one of Fogerty's "Fortunate Sons," and I find him personally very disturbing in so so many ways, BUT, by some perverse miracle, Donald Trump has become the representative and voice for our nation's "deplorables," otherwise denigrated by our elites as white privileged knownothings. Meanwhile our narcissistic ivy league maniacs have sold our hoi polloi down the drain for access to China's markets of billions and Central America's hordes of cheap labor. Fortunately, I take solace in the probability that the country actually runs itself and that all this political "sound and fury signifies nothing."

Five deferment draft dodger. Fuck him.
By the way, Mike was USMC, like Mueller a volunteer. Trash like Orange make me sick with their false BS patriotism.
...sometimes the choice is between bad and worse.
Excerpt from the link:
The world has by now largely forgotten Sendero Luminoso, or the Shining Path, but at the time (between 1980 and the capture of its leader, Abimael Guzmán, in 1992), it was the most sinister revolutionary movement in the world, as fanatical as the Islamists today. I went to the highland city of Ayacucho, where the movement started, at a time when it seemed far from impossible that Sendero would overthrow the odiously demagogic and contemptibly corrupt government of Alan García. If it did so, I had little doubt that the world would soon see a reenactment of the days of the Khmer Rouge, but on a much larger scale. It was a perfect lesson in politics: that the choice is not usually between the good and the bad, but the bad and the worse, in this case the far, far worse.
...
...When two years later I heard that Sendero’s founder and leader, Guzmán, had been captured, I felt a great relief for Peru, even though the president, Alberto Fujimori, turned out to have been grossly corrupt. He was only ordinarily bad, however; Guzmán was Pol Pot bad.
I remember what one Peruvian peasant said when asked why he had voted for Fujimori: “I voted for Fujimori because I didn’t know anything about him.” There are probably many worse reasons for voting for someone.

Shining Path that practiced genocide.
Both candidates were extremely flawed and either choice had bad consequences. But there was no one advocating mass murder.
It also has nothing to do with the false patriotism of draft dodger Orange.
For the hundreth time I get why you voted for him.
Why you feel the need to constantly defend or explain him at all times escapes me.
You seem a bit sensitive on this.
And this one qualifies.
Thus, you "smelled out" your own alternate purpose, and declared the analogy bad. Well done.
support him in the face of despicable conduct or behavior.
The analogy sucks for either.

And yet, well, you know.

Formed as The Versatiles in late 1965, the group changed its name to the hipper "the 5th Dimension" by 1966. They became well-known during the late 1960s and early 1970s for their popular hits: "Up, Up and Away", "Stoned Soul Picnic", "Medley: Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In (The Flesh Failures)", "Wedding Bell Blues", "One Less Bell to Answer", "Never My Love", "(Last Night) I Didn't Get to Sleep at All", and The Magic Garden LP.
The five original members were Billy Davis Jr., Florence La Rue, Marilyn McCoo, Lamonte McLemore, and Ronald Townson. They have recorded for several labels over their long careers. Their first work appeared on the Soul City label, which was started by Imperial Records/United Artists Records recording artist Johnny Rivers. The group later recorded for Bell/Arista Records, ABC Records, and Motown Records.
