With the Open Championship set for Northern Ireland this weekend, I realized I know too little about the history of the conflict. Would greatly appreciate any recommendations.

If you want to sink your teeth in a bit more, I loved the trilogy by Peter Taylor - Provos, Loyalists and Brits.
Rebel Hearts and Killing Rage are also good from the IRA perspective. The latter is by a former IRA member who flipped.
I haven't read Say Nothing yet. On my list.

Great firsthand accounts.
But then, Feck the Prods!
a top notch firsthand account like Say Nothing from the loyalist side.
