Looks riveting. Hard-edged butler movies drag me in everytime.
The appeal of superhero movies to grown adults mostly escapes me, but how hard up for excitement do you have to be to go see this one?
Batman Begins wasn't bad. McSweeney breathlessly touted Iron Man, so I rented that. I turned it off after about 20 minutes. I fell asleep about a half-hour into The Dark Knight at the theater. I'll bet Ant Man rocked it. Have they made Plastic Man yet?
So I've seen many of the Avengers movies and they're not bad. Among the Avengers, I liked Dr Strange and Civil War the best.
But the most annoying thing about Marvel movies is having to sit through all of the damn credits to see the next teaser. I, of course, would leave, but ya know the 12 year old.
I did enjoy the X-Men movies. In particular Apocalypse, First Class and Logan.
What I am told is the DC stuff, no interest at all.
I read X-Men too but hate the movies. I find a lot of them entertaining, but certainly not great.
Zero interest watching 21st century movies about them. Moronic CGI effects that render them cartoons, wooden actors/actresses who are interchangeable, crappy dialogue, predictable plot "twists," et cetera. In other words, a microcosm of everything that makes modern Hollywood crap.
Seriously, why not just create CGI actors? Think of the actors in these superhero movies. No, think about today's biggest "stars." Do you think they will be remembered in 50 years? Sweet Buddha, Hollywood is crap.
So many damn remakes, live action, back again to animation, etc. Not to mention the general trend of remakes across the entire industry. It’s horrible. I was still entertained by the Avengers though. Just not enough to watch them in the theater.
They appeal to the "That last battle was so freaking cool!" crowd.
I hate them, too.
