In some people's eyes any achievements in the history of this country has a problem. Founding of this country has a slave owner problem in Washington and Jefferson. Apollo mission, because of many ex-Nazi scientists and engineers working on it, has a Nazi problem.

The question is whether w the should have forgiven the massive use of slave labor by von Braun - and his senior positions in the Nazi government - to take advantage of his expertise and skill in rocket design during the Cold War.

used slave labor to do it.
It would have been nuts though not to put his rocketry talents to use and he deserves much of the credit for reaching the moon.
His history should neither be ignored or dominate the moon story. However, it is certainly part of it and should be taught as such.

The Russians were closing in fast when he and his brother surrendered to American forces. A couple days later and things may have turned out very differently.
BTW - his three children attended ceremonies in Huntsville last week, commemorating Apollo 11.
Apollo 11 reflects America at its very best - answering President Kennedy’s call and vision years earlier, NASA put mankind on the moon.
Ingenuity, Grit, Courage, Adaptation, and of course, the resolve to accomplish the mission against all odds.
Maybe we can find that same resolve to lead the planet in managing climate change and conquering China in the artificial intelligence race.
Won’t happen with Trump at the helm. Just noise, division, and stalemate.
We have never been fully comfortable hiring von Braun to have done our rocketry.
Nor should we be. He was a war criminal.
therefore earn your trust. That's understandable by everyone. But, Apollo mission has been successfully finished for 50 years. These ex-enemies' patriotism are proved and they become American heroes. At same time they still get punishment for being ex-Nazi. They're under-reported by media, they didn't become president's science advisors or occupied the important positions like Admin of NASA. You shouldn't feel uncomfortable. The problem of your 2019 super-lib friends and Frank is they insult Apollo mission by saying they have a Nazi problem. Their reason is these ex-Nazi are still Nazi, i.e. Apollo hired current Nazi, not ex-Nazi. If you don't stand up to your super lib friends, sooner you will hear from them saying that Apollo mission is a collusion between American and Nazi.

This nonsense about the moon landings being sexist somehow IS a new issue, and an asinine one.
....I know that you don’t support this, nor reparations, nor healthcare for illegals, or $15 min wage across the board.....nor all of this PC drivel about wokenness..... but your party does.
They have left you whether you realize it or not.
Come to the light and we will embrace you.

The joke at the time was that Von Braun’s book “I Aim For The Stars” should have been sub titled “ But I Mostly Hit London”.
At least something good came from that crowd.
Von Braun was also SS.
anniversary if you think it has a Nazi problem. I'm celebrating it.
achievement. I also celebrate that we able to use some talented men who had done much evil to do much good. I also celebrate that we kicked yer fookin commie asses in getting there Boris.

You are truly nuts.
The guy said he agreed with Mein Kampf in 85.
It's just that the one in Huntsville News is not on internet or I couldn't find it.
Again & again, you're lucky to be born in U.S. You would be perfect Stalinist or Marist if you were born in Russia or China, prosecuting people based on view not on actual actions.
A German rocket engineer who built the Saturn rocket that took Armstrong to the moon is demonized by today's SJW like you. What a shame.
You are the one who brought this up. He said he agreed with Mein Kampf. You likely do as well. I don’t care what he built, the guy was a Nazi and then a Nazi sympathizer.
You should be ashamed reading crappy like the UNZ Review.
