I'm about 17 HCP, and do not use hybrids (old man clubs). That said I have to make a deal with the devil not to double-cross every shot.
My current set are Big Bertha Irons circa 2005 or so.
Anyone get a new set lately that they love?

15 years ago a guy asked me if I had stolen them from a museum. I’ll give them to you for 2 bottles of Rubired.
Shit, clubs are expensive these days.

I bought Scor wedges then after they bought rights to the Ben Hogan name and came out with the ft worth irons, I finished out my set with those. The neat thing about these is that you can pick whatever gap you want. I have 57,53,49,45,41,37,33,29 in the bag currently. I also have a 61 and a 25 I swap in at times.
Regarding other brands that friends have that I've tried, I think Callaway is leading with TM a close second.
Very economically sound clubs for good golfers, it seems.
But iron play hasn't been the problem.
They are more forgiving than they look, but the advantage and what I like about them is turf interaction from different lies. If you have a dealer nearby, check em out.

Awfully pricey at $1100 for a set.
