I would oppose that deployment, vigorously. But it is being floated now as part of the effort to keep Putin out of Ukraine. Doubt it ever happens.
It's like the Fed believing it can always tame inflation. Not so.
This is a dangerous game, Chris. There's a better way to handle it.
EDIT: George W. Bush and H.W. would make the same mistakes, I'm sure.
He has taken any military reaction off the table, which has pissed off Bolton and Cruz and the other hawks.
Reacting with economic tools is appropriate.
Expanding NATO further or putting troops in Estonia would be horrible ideas. Which is why I think we won't do it.

Brave Ukraine soldiers are prepared to die for their nation, ... for their growing democracy.
Yet, you think this is just a convenient opportunity to snipe at President Biden, while rolling over and playing dead amidst efforts by Americans to diminish/destroy our democracy here in America.
The world is a complicated place, little boy. There is no magic wand to make Putin's aggression go bye bye. Working in concert with our European allies, the United States is providing as much pressure and pushback as possible, knowing that invasion is imminent. What is happening on the ground is not about US politics.

by sending 5,000 troops to Europe on top of what we already have there, risking a major engagement with Russia, all because Biden doesn't know how to stand up to Putin like Trump did.
The Left abandoned its anti-war principles a long time ago. Conor's post is more proof.
