on 11 hits on the anniversary of 9/11.
Between Piazza's homer against Atlanta on the first game back and this, pure magic.

Don’t taint them with your dumbfuckitude.
They have been a rollercoaster this year but still have a shot. Showing my age but vividly remember the '69 Amazin Mets, the 73 and 86 teams.....
Agree, if only they had a closer/bullpen......but even their starting pitching has been subpar given the hype around the young arms
...break. Prior to that...not so much.
If they had even a normal amount of blown saves, instead of the dumpster fire they've had in relief, they'd be in it already.
Did not leave early.
My favorite has always been Mookie. But I loved the late 80s teams and the late 90s teams the most...but this one is so fun to watch too.
If only they had a bullpen.
and 2015's staff would win it all.
I was the biggest Mickey Mantle fan ever and I loved the Yankees of those days but now I kind of root for the underdogs because baseball has been falsely hyped up with the tight baseball strings replacing the steroid era as a way to produce home runs.
Imagine a 565 foot home run with a dull ball and another ball that would have gone out of Yankee stadium and been even further if it wasn't hit on such a line. All natural except for maybe a couple of greenies which did not help the home runs. I also felt Roberto Clemente would have been one of the greatest if he did not play in Forbes Field which was gigantic.
