I’m not talking about the kind of “proof” the Bush admin conjured up to justify their idiotic war with Iraq. I’m talking about 100% indisputable proof the EU pussies can’t refute.
My opinion is nothing. Except maybe keep selling Saudi scumbags more weapons.
We have no obligations to defend the Saudis
The Saudis are as despicable as Iran and probably some of them were responsible for 9/11
If the House of Saud wants to retaliate against Iran that’s fine with me. Let them kill each other.
A war between those two asshole regimes would probably spill over into Israel, but it should be up to them to defend themselves in that event.
Selfishly, I don’t want to see oil go to $200 a bbl but we have enough oil to keep ourselves safe and if the EU pays a price for that, screw them too. Russia would be the big winner from a serious war in the Middle East, but so be it. IMO We should just stay out of it.
won’t intervene. With all his faults he’s not a neocon.

As if the Saudis don't have weaponry coming out of their eyeballs.
Why an attack on Aramco should be considered an attack on us is beyond me.
EDIT: Pretty unanimous board opinions on this. That's rare.
they were in the thick of the 09/11 plot.
Trump has made us not only energy independent, but exporters. Iran needs to be dealt with so I would definitely respond to any attacks on the Saudi’s, but I would look at our protection of them in the same light as they have looked at us - a convenient ally only.
Take some of their exporting business while they are down. Why not?
We will only defend Israel.
attacked them we should defend. They are plenty capable though of dealing with the regional nations without us having to spill blood on their behalf.
That being said, if their existence was somehow threatened, we would have to intervene.
Will KSA declare war with Iran? My point is, in term of war, it's too early to ask U.S. at this moment. Yes, I know the pressure to go to war inside Trump administration is high, But I trust Trump can handle it and hold it very well (Letting Bolton go is a good example).
OK, here is my answer: No war! But it doesn't mean do nothing. More sanctions and if possible bring more countries to join the sanctions. Right now Iran wants to be attacked because they are suffering from sanctions. Their calculation is that such an attack from the great Satan will get the support of their people, classical tactic that switches the internal crisis to external issue. But just because they want to be attacked doesn't mean we should thereby be deterred from doing so, that's not what I meant. My point is the sanction clearly is working, we should keep doing sanctions and more sanctions if possible.
to explain JUST WHAT THAT MEANS.
Orange backed himself into this corner after Iran wouldn’t coming crawling back to the table.
It’s not going to turn out well as their hardliners are crazy and will fight.
For now. I would do as Cole suggests below. I know....crazy, but he’s right here.
to let the sanctions go to work.
We don't need to respond with force to their piece of shit attacks in the region. We are a net exporter of energy. We cannot fight wars in the ME each decade.
