And I'm thinking, why is this national news? WTF? So, I went looking for an article that reported the original claim. Turns out she is black, and the accused boys are white. Also turns out that Pence's wife works at the school.
Just very interesting that race was not mentioned at all in the story correction, but it was the lead in the initial "report."
Also interesting that Pence got dragged into this...mentioned 3 times in the initial article.
Also, the initial article thought it was important to mention that the school didn't allow teachers to support LGBTQ viewpoints...even though the story had nothing to do with that. There was no allegation that this 6th grader was gay or transgender.
I suppose the author was trying to say that anti-gay radical Christians supported by Pence are more likely to produce racist boys?...only by implication, of course, so as to allow an easy explicit denial later so the Left can deny there is an actual agenda.
The news is just weird nowadays.
Too busy following mundane stuff like what the President is telling the country:)
Where the president of the United States was bullying a young girl with aspergers. Crazy.
...what is wrong with journalism. Fan the flames, and then don't bother putting out the coals...just leave them hanging around in case someone else wants to come start a fire.
Meanwhile, people like Chris will just point to the correction, and say that the storyline is actually an example of what is good about journalism.
It turned out that the parents of the girl were living their political dogma by depriving their child of her youth, and setting her up for universal ridicule, and then when people criticized her parents, they said, "How dare you criticize a child...a child who is speaking on a UN podium spouting political nonsense at our behest." Really a sickening story all around. Some people still think it is ok to use a child as a political shield. Very weird.
As a political shield. I hate when that happens
I mean, I suppose it would be mean to criticize an unborn child, since they are totally innocent. But I haven't seen them used as shields. I look forward to your example.
Sure can figure it out. Good luck
