Prescribing opioids could instantly make a marginal doctor very popular which brought in lots of income whereas withholding opioids when it wasn’t appropriate in the age of google and the internet led to some doctors getting the terrible online reviews and hospital complaints.
This guy violated his hippocratic oath, he violated the law, and I would have given him more than 40years.
The healthcare delivery industry (hospitals, medical groups) all talk the talk now, but they didn’t help a damn bit when it wasn’t considered politically correct.
Reminds me of the hacker abortionists that were/are covered up.....I’m not talking about the abortion issue per se, nor the competent abortionists, but the fact that a hacker in that field enjoyed carte blanche - even if every other patient they operated on ended up with a complication (not an exaggeration).
