Ironically, Rand Paul, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Mike Lee and Ilhan Omar all praised the move.
There is no light at the end of the tunnel where they become peaceful, modern civilizations if we occupy for a few more years. And then a few more.
It's not worth our tax dollars nor American lives.

who did the heavy lifting against ISIS to the mercy of Erdogan is despicably Orange.

Like how spies have become whistleblowers.
instigated this? I cannot believe Trump did, he has no intellect when it comes to foreign policy or American policy in general.
Something tells me, Putin is behind this move.
I'm not into war or war games especially the loss of American lives and the lives of those who fight. This will likely
end up with ISIS becoming stronger, something Trmp said he'd defeat as POTUS.
The politics in this stinks - I don't trust Trump.

We are redeploying Special Operations forces to the south, to get them out of Turkey's way.
This has nothing to do with saving money or stopping a "forever war" (they've only been there 3 years, BTW) or changing strategy (which we have none, currently). It is just giving Turkey a lane to squash Kurds. Which has begun.
Why do you think Trump will stop with just a pullback?
It’s not like he follows the standard policy process. So who the hell knows what he might think tomorrow.
It's almost comical, if it wasn't so treasonous.

topple the "tree" in Assad. Obama and Brennan gave $1B in weapons to fighters we barely knew and a civil war erupted, causing death and mass immigration. If Obama pulled out troops like Trump is doing, then he would've received a second Nobel Peace Prize. Instead Jim and Albany ruminate, fulminate, and quackerate over Trump. Ludicrous.
as well, but we all know it.
doesn't matter to them anymore. Chris is a perfect example of them.
I see only Rand Paul in agreement.
And I have said twice already that I think this is a good policy in the long-run, but it sure looks as if it has been handled poorly. You can't give the Turks a green light to slaughter the people who until recently were our allies.

You assume - based on nothing - that it has EVER been our policy to try to get out. This is not a failure of the State Dept somehow. That is not fair...they have never been tasked with trying.
We should be deterring Turkish assaults on the Kurds, not encouraging them. We should have made it clear that any attacks on them will result in a penalty from us.
Instead we have given the Turks what they have longed for: The A-O-K from us to slaughter their enemies.

is why I am awaiting information from different, more reliable perspectives.
As I just wrote below, pulling out of Syria is a good idea. But essentially granting Turkey the right to slaughter our allies is not.
We should have tied withdrawal to a Turkish guarantee of Kurdish autonomy. Instead Trump had a chat with Erdogan, who probably laid on some thick compliments...so now we have opened the door to slaughter.
A generally useless bunch who cannot afford the world to discover the secret of their uselessness as they have grown so big and powerful.
I haven’t had enough time to get to understand the situation well enough yet. I recall past issues and can update them and put them in context however with a little time.
But I am convinced of your underlying perturbation here.
principle is unacceptable. But they gave the green light anyway. Our past presidents gave them green light to enter Northern Iraq to fight Kurds years ago. Kurds independence is a separate issue, needs other countries to work on it. U.S. can't afford to take this responsibility alone. It's a long term effort by everybody.

As I have stated strongly before, and just to reiterate, if Turkey does anything that I, in my great and unmatched wisdom, consider to be off limits, I will totally destroy and obliterate the Economy of Turkey (I’ve done before!). They must, with Europe and others, watch over...
....the captured ISIS fighters and families. The U.S. has done far more than anyone could have ever expected, including the capture of 100% of the ISIS Caliphate. It is time now for others in the region, some of great wealth, to protect their own territory. THE USA IS GREAT!

Hint: It won't.
Here is a good comment, from Emma Ashford of Cato:
"The most depressing part of this administration:
Trump’s willingness to consider dialing down America’s military interventions is routinely met with more bipartisan criticism than his violation of constitutional norms or the rule of law."
on this.....some of us do not live and breath his tweets like you do.
Let’s see all of the tweets. I haven’t made up my mind yet on this ordeal. When exactly do we ever get out of these situations?
It is interesting that the Kurds, who have refused to defend themselves effectively despite unending training would respond with making good on a threat to release ISIS fighters so quickly. Sounds like an unhealthy situation all around.
Trump campaigned on this. Certainly it will disturb the status quo in Washington. But was it a bad move? I am awaiting more information.
And re-tweeted 8 things. But it is early.
Here is all he said about Turkey, in addition to the mind-blowing ones posted above:
The United States was supposed to be in Syria for 30 days, that was many years ago. We stayed and got deeper and deeper into battle with no aim in sight. When I arrived in Washington, ISIS was running rampant in the area. We quickly defeated 100% of the ISIS Caliphate,.....
....including capturing thousands of ISIS fighters, mostly from Europe. But Europe did not want them back, they said you keep them USA! I said “NO, we did you a great favor and now you want us to hold them in U.S. prisons at tremendous cost. They are yours for trials.” They.....
.....again said “NO,” thinking, as usual, that the U.S. is always the “sucker,” on NATO, on Trade, on everything. The Kurds fought with us, but were paid massive amounts of money and equipment to do so. They have been fighting Turkey for decades. I held off this fight for....
....almost 3 years, but it is time for us to get out of these ridiculous Endless Wars, many of them tribal, and bring our soldiers home. WE WILL FIGHT WHERE IT IS TO OUR BENEFIT, AND ONLY FIGHT TO WIN. Turkey, Europe, Syria, Iran, Iraq, Russia and the Kurds will now have to.....
...figure the situation out, and what they want to do with the captured ISIS fighters in their “neighborhood.” They all hate ISIS, have been enemies for years. We are 7000 miles away and will crush ISIS again if they come anywhere near us!
Putting an need to a war with no good outcome for us.
The bottom line is that you don’t trust Trump no matter what. You are willing to toss out an action that would have received your whole hearted approval had Obama had a spine and done it, but here you are willing to condemn it if it finally means that you can get the GOP on your side since you think it will turn the tables on impeachment.
There is a clear logic in Trump’s tweets. I will have to learn more to see if I agree with him or not, but those are not the words of a mad man. They are the words of someone who is willing to stir up the status quo for what he thinks is right. They are the words of someone that the PTB’s cannot control. They are also actions that deeply bruise the ego of a largely useless state department which has been used to thinking itself indispensable.
His enemies are everywhere in Dc now, but the parent in Osh Kosh whose son is in northern Syria may not feel the same way.
Of course Trump tweets when he does something big - he wants to get out his side of the story since he knows the media will spin everything against him. That is also why you really hate him tweeting whether you realize it or not.
Turkey is striking the Kurds. Erdogan got the go-ahead, and he is going ahead.
“We are forced to withdraw some of our guarding forces of #ISIS terrorist detentions to face the Turkish invasion."
So, they are releasing the ISIS fighters we asked them to detain.
Way to go, Mr. President.
