If you don’t, and the reason is that you can’t abide the idea, then you have a deep seated problem. Lighten up.
Dialogue never happens between enemies.

Also, as Frank might point out, there is something very different from being a Reagan conservative and a Trump enthusiast.
Debates with Reagan conservatives can be excellent. Debates with Trump enthusiasts often are like arguing in middle school.

Critical thinking is so 2015!

but all in all, he's not this terrible person, just someone who should never have been in politics and governance.
Do I have friends who are Trump supporters at this time - Nope.
I have a few friends, republicans who voted for Trump but they quickly withdrew their support for him even after stating they'd give him a chance.
Today, those few R friends do want him impeached (well before I stood up for impeachment) and some of whom can't believe they made the mistake of seeing his election
as a good idea. I offer RICO Act and they're now on board with that too.
I have extended family who voted for Trump (and W Bush) who are still loyal to Trump, much like you, Baron - and it's impossible to have a conversation with them on
simple things like family outings they have become this intractable cloud overhead - I now refuse to have conversations with them and I'll avoid being in the same place as
them just to not be forced into their vortex of stupidity. PS: they're also big on Pence - Oh well
"Whew, glad that fucking wear out didn't show"
People can’t get away from it so they start to believe that it is important to their lives. In reality, the boss’s mood is much, much more important to almost everyone rather than whatever outrageous tweet Trump just sent.
Trump vs Warren probably boils down to an annual difference of a few hundred dollars in take-home pay for the vast majority of Americans. BFD
BTW: not claiming that I don’t suffer from the same overreactions everyone else does.
Not said, however, is that the people who were upset she appeared with W were not conservatives, but the intolerant left.
Somehow I suspect this is Trump's fault.

Most of my friends are liberals, not just some of them. I'm pretty sure I am on Team Tolerance. Not sure you can say the Dems are as tolerant as the Right. That's not to say you personally aren't tolerant. Just that there is more intolerance on your side, and we see it on campuses...and in this Ellen-Bush thing.
One thing that occurred to me: If I had a choice of inviting Ellen to dinner or Trump to dinner, I would ask Ellen. Who T.F. would want to sit next to Trump???

I have very few friends or family who support him.
But, for those that still do, they are dead to me, in terms of me ever respecting their viewpoints.
Nevertheless, a friend is a friend. My family is my family. Trump will not change that.
I don't take politics personally. Sorta by training. My friends (and family) are all over the map - but I avoid talking politics with some, since not everyone can argue and disagree and not take it personally.
I actually think it's important to be sensitive to the feelings of to those you disagree with, especially in times like this. Family and friends who can't even talk to each other any more are yet another casualty of the Trump era.

They are still my friends.
