I don't agree with banning people in general, is this the first time you've noticed this?
Until your post I had no idea that was a thing, I guess because this is about the most social of media I use.
He obviously follows some anti-Semitic people on Twitter, and I feel like he randomly posts things from his feed as a copy/paste.
I don't feel he is the brightest of bulbs on here, and most of the time I find his one line posts to be interesting insight into the workings of someone who has gone over the deep end on the right, similar to Conor or Jim for the left.
Banning is very rare
Almost never happens. I've been a moderator since 2015 and I can remember two times we imposed a permanent ban, and in both cases the pattern of conduct was really bad.

I was unaware that people hated you, I have gotten the impression that some people think you lay the smack down on some more than others, but not hate.
Explaining my thinking
There are very smart people who post on this board and the last thing we want to do is to discourage legitimate discourse. I know I lean a lot just reading what you folks put up here every day, and I appreciate the opportunity to participate. That said, posts that are no more than insults and name-calling make the board unreadable. Those are the strings that get locked, or even deleted if they're really tedious or ugly. If the insults go too far I generally counsel people with board mails. Most of the time that works, at least for a while, but there are occasions where someone refuses a request to stop being a dick. That's when I use a suspension. The base suspension is 48 hours, but repeat offenders can get more. Really ugly insults also justify longer suspensions.
All that said --some of you are really good at hurling insults in a witty fashion. I admit it's a subjective standard, but if you make me laugh I sometimes (usually?) let it go.
