That kid is the goods.
As it appears, the transfer ban has showcased the Chelsea youngsters, who otherwise, might not have enjoyed any playing time.
Lampard seemingly has the touch in balancing the need to unleash 'em, yet schooling them in the complete set of skills and duties required on the pitch. Lampard commands great respect, having been such a complete player himself.
Despite all the buzz following Pulisic's arrival in London, Lampard recognized that the kid needed to rest after a demanding schedule playing for the US national team (on the back end of a full season in the German league).
He also recognized that despite Pulisic's skills, he needs grooming before he is ready to be a full time player in the Premier League. Even with the hat trick, Lampard will slowly let out the slack, and continue to rotate the other young and talented players.
But, Pulisic is pretty special. His first goal yesterday was Eden Hazard quality.
When the US team has 4-5 players of Pulisic's talent (and starting on European squads), then soccer will get even bigger here.
