The elderly lady on the corner always gave full size bars. When she sold her house and moved to an old folks home, my wife decided to make the big move: We were going to be "that house." ...the house that all the kids talk about.
So, we took over her full size candy bar role for our street.
As far as I know, there has been no candy bar arms race yet; we are still the only ones on the street who do it.
Hopefully, this gives us some street cred with the kids...although if you let the urchins pick out their own piece from the bowl, some of them will still try to grab 2 or 3 of the full size bars. Kids these days.

We live in a city neighborhood with older houses w/ large trees lining the street, providing a canopy, ideal for Halloween.
We get a decent amount of kids. Most neighbors are out on their front porches, celebrating and socializing in our own way.
As a kid, I hated Halloween, as I never liked candy or costumes. Always went as a football player and gave my candy to my siblings. Retired by age 11 or 12.
But yeah, what is the point of passing out shitty candy?

Destination neighborhood for trick or treating in my town
We do let kids take multiples of candies.
