Bottom line.
Now, he might be in the process of getting the money sucking, corrupted, and useless UN out of NYC which would be great except that I don’t think anyone else wants to foot their bill

I never thought that GWB lied about WMDs in Iraq, for instance. The war was not built on lies, no matter what his critics on the left have said.
But it really seems right now like the Trump admin is lying about the "imminent threat." That is one more very disturbing thing about this whole affair. Just one more norm destroyed.
1) They will provide no details - not even in classified settings to our allies, which is common practice. Pompeo refused to say anything. Leaks from the DOD have suggested there was nothing out of the ordinary going on.
2) It is unclear how removing Soleimani would have stopped an imminent attack. Killing Osama on 9/10 would not have stopped 9/11. If the goal to was to stop an attack, different targets would have made more sense.
3) If the reporting is accurate, killing Soleimani was debated for quite some time, and promoted by Pompeo and others. When the mob of militia members (they were not "protestors") stormed our embassy, that seems to have been the last straw. That does not sound like imminent attacks.
4) According to Israeli and Iraqi sources, Soleimani was trying to negotiate a de-escalation when he was hit.
Our government is straight-up lying to us. Bald-faced lies, orchestrated from the White House.
I know you will all respond with various bits of whataboutism. But Bush never did anything like this; neither did Obama, or Clinton, or Reagan.
R or D, we should all agree this is really bad.

Ed to have pizza. Classic mafia negotiation tactic...”give me what I want or i’M not sure I can stop these ongoing attacks.”
His killing would in no way stop or change the imminent attack if this were true but ensured, the one thing it did do was create the now premise there
are imminent attacks being worked out by Iranian military and proxy military. And it is likely global.
I'm not one to believe he was working with Iraqi forces to de-escalate the tensions in Iraq because if it is true he was in control of Iran military, the embassy
wouldn't have been attacked and there would have been a better peace already. If all is to be believed he had control of Iranian forces. There would also be
none of the intimidation of US military we've seen from the Iran military over the last several years. It could be true but it doesn't really fit the puzzle well.
As for the invasion of Iraq built on lies - GWB did lie, he lied often about the connection between Iraq and Bin Laden. He lied about WMD and the imminent
attack by Hussein on US instillations and on US soil. He lied about the Yellow Cake from Africa and the Aluminum Rods needed to create a nuclear weapon.
He put Powell up to lying to the UN with fake or doctored evidence for the purpose of war - He lied about the scientists being gathered in Iraq for the purpose of
Nuclear weapons and other WMD - he lied about the roving caravan labs moving in and out of Syria -
GWB admin didn't receive vital information from CIA that Hussein was working toward a nuclear weapon.
I would say, GWB and his thugs lied to congress and the American people to get his invasion. I may have misunderstood your definition of lying and what culminated
in the invasion of Iraq but that is as I remember it was how we ended up in Iraq. Could you provide details that would show I have it wrong.
They set up a parallel intel shop, under UnderSecDef Feith, to interpret the intel in a way that supported their preferred policies. But they really believed that Saddam had WMD (everybody did; not everybody thought it was a good reason to invade), and they believed he posed a threat (which was preposterous, but they believed it). Powell certainly didn't lie at the UN - everyone thought they had anthrax. The only one who came close is Cheney, who talked about Saddam "reconstituting" his nuke program, when he knew there was no evidence of that. But you can make the case that he assumed Saddam was, so it was not a lie.
It was not lies that got us into Iraq; it was just piss-poor judgment, and flawed grand strategy.
not unlike what the Trump Whitehouse is doing now -
- what Congress and the American people (in general) were willing to accept doesn't make Cheney's or Bush's statements any less manufactured.
Anecdotally, this household knew there were no WMD - we went over and over the Bush/Cheney evidence and could see nothing to support their claims
in fact the opposite.
1. Blix and his crew found nothing, no evidence of anything other than degraded facilities
facilities which some contained inert and aged evidence of agents that were unusable and presented no danger - sanctions on Iraq had depleated
almost everything in Iraq - any wealth that could be used for producing WMD on a mass scale had been usurped by Hussein for his many palaces
2. Wilson's op-ed about the Yellow Cake and Aluminum Rods was compelling information
3. Entrance into Iraq was very closely guarded, their ports, borders and air. 4. In all the years under surveillance especially by air suddenly there were
these mobile stations for producing biological agents never before noticed? 5. Powell claimed first hand information but could not prove this in any capacity
6. Powell also claimed that there were hundreds of tons of biological agents already produced.
7. Tenet and the Whitehouse had massaged the public and our allies for 18 months talking about a smoking gun - the apocalypse was upon us. The media
including the NYTimes, WPO, LATimes and every major heavy print had been seeded with false info by Tenet and the Whitehouse (Cheney) so much so that
when Powell presented info at the UN (info he suspected or knew was mostly false - he's said so since) it was believable to those who hadn't bothered to give
a look see in what was happening up until then.
Much of what we learned about the classified info appears to have been created as an after argument to support any reason or to justify the secret info
that could not be divulged in 2002. Powell's presentation at the UN wasn't the cause for US going to war but his performance was definitely the icing on the (yellow) cake.
Powell himself has said, Bush and Co. had fabricated evidence for which he is now ashamed of presenting to the American public as it will be on his record
for eternity.
All other info which didn't support the cause for an invasion was set aside no matter how compelling (as you noted - Supporting preferred information).
To me, That's lying. I don't see this as a minor mistake or a mistake - it was intended and to me, that's lying.
I'm not trying to relitigate the Iraq invasion, but it's difficult to hear others who are still willing to grace the Bush admin with reasonable doubt.
he planted explosives knowing that taking the towers down he would make money on his Halliburton stock. That fucking fat bastard. What's it going to take for this guy to die. He's like Hyman Roth, he's been dying from the same heart attack for years.
You crack me up.

The General was not in Iraq on a mission of de-escalation or peace.
Your sources are loons.
And you know it.

He said "some at a very high level & important to Iran & the Iranian culture.”
Could be airports, bridges, Defense department, stadiums. etc
Unlikely to involve huge civilian casualties or religious sites.
Are you obtuse, disingenuous or misinformed? There are no other options.
“They’re allowed to kill our people. They’re allowed to torture and maim our people. They’re allowed to use roadside bombs and blow up our people,” the president said. “And we’re not allowed to touch their cultural site? It doesn’t work that way.”
He has let everyone in the world know that if they attack our religious sites, or national iconic sites then we will respond in kind.
His end game is destroying their air and missle power and other strategic military priorities.
Any fool knows that.
I don't give a rats ass if this hurt yours or Jims feelings.

He gets his talking points from CNN. Pet monkey - no that is funny. Not sure why you would insult a monkey like that but still funny.
A guy who had orchestrated the death and torture of thousands wanted peace love and understanding for all.
I know they ave basically told us to go and Trump should pull them all out. I just didn't see anything definite on them leaving. Hopefully it's soon because the quicker the troops are away from those savages, the better. It's a no win situation.
