...today they swore an oath to be impartial in their judgement which is clearly not possible.
They will prove their lying nature if they do not recuse themselves, and we all know what they will do.
Some have aired their opinions. Some have not.
Unlike a criminal trial where the jury is selected through voir dire, challenges for cause, and peremptory challenges, the jury pool for a Senate Impeachment trial was already selected by the voters.
Yet, the purpose of today’s oath is to remind the Senators of their duty to drop all pre-dispositions, and to hear the evidence and argument with an open and objective mind.
Stand together and hear the evidence.

Donald Trump is guilty”.
The jury pool was not gathered through a random draw from the DMV database.
The jury are elected US Senators, who have expressed their opinions based upon what they have read and seen in the House hearings.
Many of us have likewise made up our minds.
The oath demands each Senator to recalibrate and separate any prior dispositions.
It is our process.

This whole process of Impeachment has been a joke. They have been calling for Trump's removal for 3 years. They were just waiting for something they thought would stick. We know what the final verdict will be. It will be a party line vote and then the Dems will need to try and find something else to make stick.
We get it, you Dems hate Trump but using Impeachment to prove it is a mistake. I really hope it costs you the House in November.
Was hoping I’d get to give that back to you. Thanks.
And while I have heard those R’s mention how weak the case presented was, I have not heard them declare Trump’s innocence or guilt as I have heard the D candidates.
I think none of them should recuse themselves. It is a political trial. These are politicians.
Here would have been whataboutism: “but Dole didn’t recuse himself in 1998!”
See?
