Cruz did not endorse Trump during the convention as I recall. The Republican party had a very healthy debate about Trump and voiced their disagreements of him. It does not seem that Dems are willing to criticize Sanders the same way regarding the issue of socialism. They seem to agree with it but disagree with Sanders on other issues.
