If you cite the deficit but are voting for free health care for illegals please just stop now, I don't want your response.
DEMS never cut taxes, they raise them..
it accomplishes nothing. The economy is sunk until the virus runs its course, be it by natural or medicinal routes.

Our politicians get away with this, because so far, every time they go back to the powder room, they find another powder keg. At some point, they will open the door, and there will be no more powder. Then, we are well and truly fucked, and the world is fucked, too.
Illinois has been doing this for decades (creating debt for special interests, essentially borrowing from future Illinoisans and future non-Illinoisans). I suppose they are counting on other states to bail them out. But no one will be able to bail out the United States on that fateful day that the rest of the world loses faith in the dollar. Like the next pandemic, I don't think we can stop that from happening. It will happen, it is just a matter of when. Next 10 years? Next 30 years? Next 50 years? Who knows. Buy gold (and maybe even lead) now, unless you have confidence in the ability of our politicians to start spending responsibly.
but I like the idea of taking decisive action now.
Like 08, do what needs to be done quickly.
Hope Trump does declare a state of emergency to free up that other money.
Pelosi shouldn't load the bill with other stuff.
Not sure it is going to do much to calm the markets...but the Fed's hands are pretty tied, so it's probably a good idea. Not sure why he had to request it through November, making it so blatantly political but whatever.
Our doctors are more reassuring about the possible course of the pandemic than our financial wizards and politicians are about the proper governmental response. It seems like this is driven by the agendas by all the different parties. We are more freaked out about keeping Trump in office or booting him out than what's really good for the country.
What a POS. Impeach the Fat Fuck for dereliction of duty.
You make Viva look intelligent.

Who will be most impacted by the economic fallout of this?
A) People who are paying payroll tax (i.e. still employed)
B) People who are not paying the payroll tax because they are unemployed (laid off, have to quit to care for a sick family member, have to quit to care for kids who can't go to school anymore due to closures, etc.)
If we are going to try to reverse the economic fallout, it seems like we should actually address the economic fallout.

Can't we do both?
Doesn't every state have its own rules? I am definitely not an expert.
I don't have a problem with doing both. I think the unemployed are a bigger priority.
