At least for awhile. The doctors who have been treating with it are not giving it to everyone with a positive test yet, due largely to availability and need as of today.
If a patient is diagnosed with the virus but symptoms are mild and they're not in the high-risk group, they aren't receiving the treatment prescription. They are getting the standard hydrate/hibernate recommendation that you would get with the regular flu.
So, even if the current larger-scaled versions of this treatment test (i.e. New York) are as successful as the smaller one appeared to have been, we still need to flatten the curve to not exceed current capacity in these next couple of weeks (or more).

According to Dr Fauci, the French test involved 20 patients, the symptoms of 6 of whom seemed to have improved with the treatment.
Obviously I hope it works too...but there are also other treatment experiments under way that might prove to be more effective.
We’ll see.
Link is below for his letter. They are currently testing in Australia, as well. Also some health-care workers are taking this as a precautionary preventive measure, but I don't know anything about how effective that would be.

Doubt that I would put much trust in his "research".
