Benghazi. He dispatched fighter planes to Benghazi without clearance from the WH.
He was relieved immediately - at sea, and then mysteriously, complaints were filed that he had used "swear words" at a crew man and that he said another officer was promoted because of affirmative action rather then merit.
Like Michael Flynn, he had no chance. The accusations may as well have come from Blasy Ford herself.
Trump is clearly not cleaning his trail up like Obama did.
All of that aside, your opinion is simply based on who is president, nothing more. This will also be the reason that you will oppose his efforts to recover from COVID - though you will not see it that way. You will not trust Trump no matter what. You will see his decisions as wrong even though your own candidate might have made the same decsiion in which case you would have seen it as correct.
This is evidenced in your post by your inferred disapproval of the handling of a military event (your posting of the troops giving the dismissed admiral applause), that had nothing to do with Trump by lifetime naval officers that would have done the same thing under Obama that you clearly would have approved of had it been 5 years ago.

Whataboutism is the defense of hypocrisy, nothing more.
Seems like a guy who would fold under pressure.

He also had to know it was career ending.
Mucho respect his way.
There are ways to question a command. Perhaps he did it, and was overruled. Thus, he needed to obey or resign...which was probably the proper course. Instead, he sent the letter.
You don’t get to rise to the level of command of a carrier by being a dipshit who doesn’t know how to handle things. He must have thought there were lives on the line, he had to do it that way, and he was willing to pay the price. Also, doesn’t seem like a publicity hound out to embarrass the Navy. Again major respect his way.

If the normal channels were working, this would have been kept quiet in the first place.
sensitive information. If this was under Obama's watch, you would have advocated for his removal. I seem to recall you using these types of reasons in your arguments for going after Eric Snowden (which I also agreed with).
I rrealize the cases are different, but they show that you apply your rules very selectively.
Doubt that Trump was involved.
Guy is a national hero IMHO.
He knew his career was over though when he chose to send that to as many people as he did. He did it, so they couldn’t bury it. He’s paying the price.
I’m sure he has the respect of every man and woman under his command and a lot more peeps as well.

This is about chain of command, and how orders are handled.
He did this in a way which allowed him, and his command, to become a political football (as evidenced by Chris94's post). That is unfortunate, and I'm surprised you don't agree.

They were headed for Guam before he sent it and his email was reckless. He still has his rank. The other Navy brass who should Actually be fired are the ones who ordered the shore leave and close interaction with Vietnam Nam civilians on March 5 when the dangers of this virus were very well known.
“Speaking at a news conference Thursday evening, Acting Navy Secretary Thomas Modly said Crozier was removed from his post because he sent the letter over "non-secure unclassified email" to a "broad array of people" rather than up the chain of command.“
"I have no doubt in my mind that Captain Crozier did what he thought was in the best interest of the safety and well-being of his crew," Modly said. "Unfortunately, it did the opposite. It unnecessarily raised the alarm of the families of our sailors and Marines with no plans to address those concerns."
Type of guy you want commanding your son or daughter. Not some desk bound dipshit.
