it was a fabulous experience in a wonderful little southern town. first republican mayor in any southern city ever (made nyt headlines) was our landlord in a little house he built by hand for him and his new bride back in 1937. solid, solid stuff.
also, best catfish i ever had was in a barn converted into a restaurant back deep in the mississippi hills where there were no paved roads.
55 down to the gulf coast is very nice. It reminds me of the Carolinas. The western half of MS is a whole other story.
