Delaware lifts it in early November. Here is the New Yorker, an unexpected source, asking the same question: "Joe Biden is at his best when he’s neither speaking nor appearing in public. Will his campaign have to abandon its most effective strategy?
@zakcheneyrice writes."
The following is simply a brutal takedown:
In the face of mounting evidence that Reade’s allegations are more than the baseless smear his campaign has dismissed them to be, Biden has mostly faded into the background while his surrogates, supporters, and some pundits went to bat for him, deploying timeworn canards about sexual assault victims and what circumstances justify disbelieving them, or dismissing Reade outright before a fuller picture sees daylight. When pressed on the latest developments — that Reade told a neighbor and a former co-worker about her assault shortly after it’s alleged to have happened, according to Business Insider — columnists from the New York Times to the Nation stepped up to discredit her, and politicos from Stacey Abrams to Nancy Pelosi reaffirmed their support of the vice-president. Even Kirsten Gillibrand, who drew ire from within the Democratic Party when she pushed for Al Franken to resign after evidence of his misconduct surfaced in 2017, doubled down on her support. (That it’s fallen mostly on women to speak for Biden when he’s hesitant to speak for himself — and will likely continue to be — indicts both his strategy and the sexist standards from which it profits.)
We’re now at the point where corroborating testimony supporting Reade’s allegations meets or exceeds the threshold established by those made against Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh and President Trump. Many of their defenses are now being deployed to protect a man whose efforts to nullify the former’s power and depose the latter are being framed by his supporters, and even some of his skeptics, as America’s best alternative to catastrophe, moral and otherwise. Opportunism guides political behavior as much as cynicism and hypocrisy shape it. That’s about as involved an explanation as this reversal merits, I think. More striking is that Biden hasn’t had to do much of the defending himself. Mounting evidence supporting Reade’s claim makes things harder, but he’s largely staying true to the strategy that’s guided his campaign since early on, which holds that the winningest Biden is one to be imagined, not seen, heard, or even thought about too hard. His staff recognizes that the less its candidate speaks, the less opportunity his supporters have to neglect evidence that undermines their faith — in his competence, his election odds, and, increasingly, his innocence. If there’s one thing for which the Democrats have yet to punish Biden this cycle, it’s his silence in the face of lingering doubt. To change that now would be to change the very foundation of his campaign’s success.

issue. It is that too many women pressure him to choose them for VP. Particularly, Stacey Abrams is very aggressive on Joe. They say basically it is hostage negotiation between her and poor Joe.
Reade is already fading away. If she had something to say she should have said it this weekend. Instead she didn’t want to be interviewed by Chris Wallace.
Orange is a serial woman assaulter who brags about it.
You were all in on their claims.
So was your Messiah by the way, and he’s an expert. I also said that I would not have voted against asshole Kavs based on her claims.
As usual, you are lying about the other woman.
Why won’t Reade be interviewed?
Of course, it doesn't much matter for the Dems as far as evaluating her. They have to believe her no matter what. So, for them, Biden is a sexual criminal and they can't vote for him, or they are hypocrites for going after Kavanaugh.
But, I suspect that most Dem voters would vote for Trump if he were a Dem. And, they will vote for Biden even no matter what. So, they are hypocrites regarding Kavanaugh, and these types of issues are mostly irrelevant when the time comes to vote. After all, why would you vote for a nice candidate who has bad policies that will harm the citizenry over a candidate who is personally repulsive, but who has policies that help people? That makes no sense.
And, given that both of them are personally repulsive, and the difference is a matter of quantity rather than quality, we can safely set aside this mostly irrelevant issue.
But, you should feel free to check her out, if you want. It really only is important to those voters who say they won't vote for Trump because of his personal life [Edit for Frank: Replace "personal life" with "character"]. Are you one of those voters? Certainly seems so. Then do your homework, and stop saying she hasn't been interviewed.
him. I have said that his character that includes but isn’t limited to being a serial woman assaulter who brags about it, along with his unfitness for the position, and many of his policies are the reasons.
Link the interview. I will be happy to watch it. I would also ask why won’t she give an interview now? It was set up. She cancelled. I also think her admission that she didn’t include sex harassment or assault in the formal complaint that she made also raises an eyebrow.
Regarding the character issue: I already knew Biden was a pervert from his public touching videos. My interest in this is not to show he is a scumbag (which I think is self-evident), but to show the hypocrisy of Biden supporters.
Both Trump and Biden are scumbags. One has better policies. One wants to sell us out to China. More people will get harmed by the latter, so for now, I still have to vote Trump.
Trump: Stormy while wife is preggers, McDougal, telling Marla to get an abortion, 17+ sex assault allegations, bragging about sexually assaulting women, using charity money to buy a painting of him, talking on Stern about how hot his daughter is and wanting to date her, Ivana’s rape charge. Biden has a single claim by someone who now won’t talk about it and didn’t put it in her complaint. Your efforts at moral equivalence are pathetic at best.
...much more good is done by electing Trump than by electing Biden.
It is a pure utilitarian calculus: Quantify the the good and bad for electing each, and then vote with the one that maximizes utility for the nation.
So, for example, if Candidate A has one sexual assault and Candidate B has 17 sexual assaults, Candidate A wins...if we stop there.
But I place "murder avoidance" at a much higher level than "sexual assault avoidance." (I assume you do to, but your posts here do seem to undermine my assumption.)
So, for further example, if Candidate A supports policies that kill hundreds of thousands of children, but Candidate B supports policies that would help those children survive, I would vote for Candidate B, as the 17 sexual assaults pale in comparison to the net good of potentially saving many more lives over the long haul.
Add in saving jobs...and setting policy that will avoid war on the one hand, and win wars if they come on the other...etc., etc., etc.
And, I don't think utilitarian logic lends itself to designating anyone a "Messiah," so your false projections on me are irrelevant, even if they help you demonize your opponent by falsely believing your opponent is a mindless cult member. If the math changes, I will change, which is the opposite of cult behavior. I might vote for Biden, but you would never vote for Trump. Which is more cult-like?
Biden. The fact that according to the mother, Orange wanted to abort his own child should be proof of that. Character does matter, and he is the most character deficient person we have had there in a very long time, maybe ever. However, I get that you are a one issue voter, but even there your logic stinks for me.
The only way Orange has any influence on the issue is through SCOTUS. Even on that front there is zero guarantee that the Court is going to overturn Roe. Even if they do, it goes back to the states, and those where the great majority of abortions are performed are going to continue to do so. You may have some marginal impact, but that’s going to be about it. For that benefit, you need to accept all of Orange's unfitness and divisiveness which is manifest in this crises as well as his deficient (IMHO) policies on isolationism, xenophobia, and protectionism. He offers no benefit on the economic issues that matter most to me and is essentially a wash there with his share buy back tax cut and reckless spending.
And the idea that you would switch to Biden is just laughable beyond belief. And yeah, I’m honest enough to say no way, no how am I voting for Orange as I know what he is.
I loved one of the latest tweets that showed Joe standing beside his wife as she talks. Joe is just standing there looking lost and then smiles. Yeah, this guy is going to lead the US. The Dems just need to make sure they pick the VP they want to be President because Joe isn't going to complete his 1st term if he wins.
