This board has degenerated into personal insults based on political biases. Actual attempt to discuss policy or legality issues do not generate any threads of any length at all.
I'm an actual ND grad. I am embarrassed by the level of infantile ranting that occurs here in a cite associated with my alma mater. It's worse than the NDNation trolls who only spew hate for any coach or player who fails to win a national we have.
My guess is that in both cases the worst offenders are not alums. I wish you would find another platform to work out your disorders.
The Irish Pub analogy is absurd.
Why do you think few women post here?
Respect others.
And support your own alumni message boards
as well as uhnd.
Cheers!
You won't find white linen and fine silverware here.
This forum is a rough and tumble, well-established Irish pub well past midnight. All the time. The patrons of this pub are not going to replace their beer and peanuts with tea and scones.
Pull up a bar stool, grab a beer, join in and expect to get called out when you say stupid stuff or walk down the street for tea where the fine folks sip their Earl Grey with pinkies and noses delicately pointed in the air and they talk about the weather. Nobody is begging you to stay or kicking you out. You get to choose.

Not all behave as if they had any respect for anyone but themselves.
Why they spend their time posting here is beyond me (several have over 30,000 posts here). They must be ashamed of their alma mater’s message boards.
The name calling is pure 7th grade. Maybe some of them didn’t graduate junior high.

I respect Most ND Alums. And any subalum who acts like an adult.

Jk jk!
posting here. The love of Notre Dame is not restricted to a diploma imo.
The times that we live in are more the cause of the friction you describe than anything to do with this board, however. Still, I have been thinking about trying to hold my tongue more....not on the opinons, but on the ad hominems and retorts.
We'll see how that goes, but if a juicy line presents itself, I promise nothing.
P.S. - some of us enjoy calling each other ignorant sluts while still respecting each other underneath. I said "some", but it's true.

can't we do better than this?
