Biden performing in the interview process of Flynn or in the covert surveillance that necessitated this?
(I'll leave alone the fact that he specifically denied knowledge of the interview of Flynn to Stephanopolous before being warned that information was just released showing that he was part of the WH briefing on the issue at which point he tried to cover it up).
I would be interested if anyone here could give me a reasonable and plausible explanation for Biden asking for the unmasking in this case - esp as he is about to leave the WH.

And if they have no good reason, their requests will be denied.

You are assuming his reason was valid, but you refuse to come up with a single legitimate reason he could have used.
I think people will keep asking. I'm sure his team is furiously trying to come up with one other than, "I wanted to leak it to the press" or "I wanted to enable Dem operatives in the Justice Department to work against a duly elected president." Honestly, I didn't think Biden was smart enough for any of this stuff, so I assume one of his underlings or another Dem operator had him do it as the fall guy.

I’m sure the Ambassador to Italy and San Marino had a strong reason he needed to know, right?
Just seeing the report in the first place means that an official meets most of the criteria to successfully request an unmasking. I bet these are almost never refused. You’d have to be a complete idiot not to be able to spin some plausible reason that you “needed to know”. Samantha Powers was still able to do it on her last day on the job. What a joke.
Baron's question is why, what for? It is just like that he certainly can ask for Air force Two to take him for a trip any day. We're asking why he used Air Force Two on a certain day, what for? You're just defending his right to use Air Force Two. That's not answering our question. You should answer because he went to Maryland for a meeting or he went to Texas to visit a school or he went to NYC to see a doctor....
it turns out that all of the intelligence divisions have their own separate rules for who has authority to approve unmasking requests. In Comey’s FBI alone, he stated that there were 20 or so people with that authority. There are 16 intelligence branches. Thus, there are literally hundreds of people that can be asked for the approval of a request, including the other possible leakers Obama loyalists Clapper, Brennan, Comey, etc., etc.
Yet you suggest that if annmasking request is not legitimate, it will be denied which is absurd since there are clearly ways to have this approved by those on the same political page.
Come on, Chris. I’d rather that you simply say there must be a reason that I can’t see right now for Biden making his unmasking request but I trust him, than insult our intelligence with the “DOJ professionals doing their job perfectly” bullshit argument that has already been blown sky high (unless your talking about William Barr in which case you suddenly go the opposite way).
