No one can reasonably argue that COVID 19 has not gutted the NY economy and made it the least desirable human habitat in the country. The subways and the congested high rises don't work well during a pandemic. The small businesses are devastated. Major corporations are moving out or having people work remotely. The tax base is seriously depleted. The City today makes the early 90's Dinkins New York look like a utopia by comparison. The question is... does the country really need or want megatropolises like this any more? If not... why throw good money after bad?

It concentrates the idiotic liberals in one electoral area.

I’m very sad at what has happened. I wish I could see a recovery but it’s hard to imagine
We’ll see. I hadn’t heard those stats but getting it wrong about Dinkins doesn’t bode well for the rest being correct.
Rudy saved the city. I lived there at the time.
You realize there were more here in the city than just you and rudy, ya?

The guy was a total loser. Worst mayor before the current p.o.s. If you don’t recognize that you are even dumber than I thought.

such a wholesome family strip under Koch and earlier administrations.
Disney AMC and theatres were moving in along 42nd street while Dinkins was mayor.
Lots of movement to clean up the strip at end of Koch admin and accelerated with Dinkins.
You’re just inventing a narrative that fits with your agenda.
The city was a complete rathole until Rudy turned it around. Democrats had run it into the ground. And now DiBlasio is making up for lost time. The guy is remarkably incompetent. Even that moron Cuomo hates him.
